Valve has sent out initial copies of the Steam Deck to media outlets and content creators from around the world. Among them is YouTuber Cary Golomb, who posted some comparison images on Twitter that illustrate the size of Valve's handheld. Among other things, the Steam Deck even surpasses the size of Nintendo's clunky Wii U controller.
How does the Steam Deck compare in size?
Cary Golomb pulled up numerous handhelds from the past few decades to compare them to Valve's new addition. The selection includes classics like the PSP, GameBoy Advance, Atari Lynx, GameGear, PS Vita, GameBoy Advance SP and many more. But also current representatives like the Nintendo Switch are included. When will the Steam Deck be released?
The first pre-orderers won't have to wait long for their Steam Deck. Valve wants to start deliveries on February 28, 2022. In addition, selected users will have the chance to purchase new units on February 25, 2022. After receiving an email, you will then have 72 hours to purchase your Steam Deck.
What games will run on the Steam Deck?
In theory, countless titles will be compatible with Steam Deck. However, Valve is additionally busy with a review process through which games are verified specifically for the handheld.
