Samsung Galaxy S22: a launch date and first images leaked

Samsung’s upcoming flagship series is to be unveiled in around three months. In addition, the first unofficial pictures are said to show the Ultra version of the Galaxy S22 series – including the S-Pen.
The closer we get to the unveiling of an important smartphone, the more rumours circulate. It’s no different for the Samsung Galaxy S22. More photos have surfaced in the last few days, and its release date is becoming more concrete than in our previous summary of the rumours.
According to industry insider and leaker Jon Prosser, the tech giant’s next S-series will be unveiled on February 8, 2022. Prosser shared this on his Twitter channel. According to the leaker, pre-orders for various S22-series devices will be possible from the day of the Unpacked event. Regular sales are scheduled to start ten days later.
No raised level for cameras, but space for the S Pen instead
Besides the launch date, Prosser also published first pictures of the alleged Samsung flagship on his online portal Frontpage Tech. A black device can be seen in the images, supposedly the S-series Ultra model according to the leaker.

At first glance, the most noticeable thing is that the cameras are no longer grouped together on a raised level like last year. This means that the camera sensors float around unbundled – a bit like spider eyes – in the upper third of the device’s back.

Leaked pictures also confirm the rumours surrounding the S Pen: The images clearly show that the Ultra version has borrowed the Pen from the discontinued Note series.
What the pictures don’t confirm, however, are rumours about the reduced size of the smartphones, the unchanged camera resolution, the lower battery capacity, the hoped-for higher charging performance, and the improved graphics on the new series.
But before all of that, S21 FE
In a tweet, Prosser reiterated his previously suspected launch date for the Galaxy S21 FE. According to him, the Fan Edition for this year’s flagship will be unveiled at the beginning of next year. For that, Prosser is predicting a Samsung Unpacked event on January 4. The device will be available one week later.
If this data proves to be true, it should be an interesting start of the year for Samsung fans. However, we don’t know where Prosser got his launch info as well as the images. Therefore, this information should be taken with a grain of salt. However, it would fit into the Korean manufacturer’s timeline for launches.
