Google I/O: First details on the Pixel 7, Pixel Watch and Pixel Tablet
At the start of the developer conference I/O, Google presented the first pictures and details of the Pixel 7, the Pixel Watch and the Pixel Tablet.
The Pixel 7 and the Pixel Watch are scheduled for release in fall 2022, and Google wants to launch the Pixel Tablet in 2023. However, Google has only given a few details about the devices' features so far.
Pixel 7
Google keeps the design concept of the Pixel 6 for the Pixel 7. However, the camera bar on the back gets an aluminum finish. The Pixel 7 Pro will again differ from the standard model with a triple camera. Both devices are supposed to have the next generation Tensor chip on board. Android 13 is preinstalled.
Pixel Watch
The Pixel Watch will be Google's first smartwatch. It runs Wear OS with a new user interface. It is operated via the touchscreen or voice with Google Assistant. Navigation via Google Maps should also be possible without a smartphone, and the new Google Wallet also provides map data for mobile payments on the watch. The Pixel Watch also comes with the Home app for Wear OS to control smart home devices.
The Pixel Watch is also supposed to be suitable for sports and fitness. Google integrates many familiar functions of the Fitbit wearables directly into Wear OS.
Pixel Tablet
Google's return to the tablet sector is a surprise. However, the Pixel Tablet is still in development. Google plans to release it in 2023. There was no more information than a picture and that it also has a Tensor chip in it. According to Google, it should be the perfect complement to the Pixel smartphone.
