Amazfit Helio Ring: This smart ring monitors regeneration
The Amazfit Helio Ring is launched in Europe. However, the tracker only realises its full potential in combination with a sports watch.
Many smart rings, such as the version I recently tested from Ultrahuman, are generalists. They collect data day and night and can therefore be used as an alternative to a smartwatch when it comes to tracking.
The Helio Ring is different. The manufacturer Amazfit is focussing on a specific target group, namely athletes. However, the gadget on the finger is only half the battle. The Amazfit ecosystem works best if you also wear a sports watch from the manufacturer.

Watch for training, ring for regeneration
The watch is intended for actual training: it tracks running, swimming, cycling or other sports in detail. The ring is then responsible for recovery. It monitors sleep and creates a mental and physical readiness analysis. You can therefore also track your regeneration precisely.
The Amazfit app combines all available data, regardless of whether it comes from the watch or the ring. The data can also be combined with many other fitness and sports apps, such as Adidas Running, Strava, Komoot, Apple Health or Google Fit.

The Helio Ring weighs less than four grams, is 0.6 millimetres thin and is made of a titanium alloy. It uses sensors to measure heart rate, temperature and blood oxygen. There is also comprehensive sleep tracking with the various phases and breathing quality.
The ring is waterproof, so it can also be worn while swimming. The battery charges in around 100 minutes and lasts up to four days according to the manufacturer. On the manufacturer's website, you will also find a list of compatible smartwatches that support data fusion with the ring. Over 30 models from the Amazfit portfolio are ready

For now only available in two sizes
The Helio Ring will cost 300 euros at launch in Europe. The Swiss price is still open, but is also likely to be around 300 francs. We are endeavouring to make the smart tracker available in our shop as soon as possible. You can already find the matching watches from Amazfit with us.
If you have thick or thin fingers, you'll have to wait a little longer to buy it anyway. To start with, the ring is only available in two sizes, namely 10 and 12. The other ring sizes will follow later, so that sizes 7 to 13 will be covered in the medium term. There is also currently no choice of colours. The Helio ring is only available in golden brown with a perforated surface.
