Garmin NiMH
The Battery Pack is designed so that a small button is pressed which lets the device know that the battery is inside and can be charged accordingly. With normal batteries or enelops etc. the switch is not triggered and the batteries are not charged. However, this can be mechanically circumvented (see Youtube) so that enelops can also be charged.
Sure, the battery has 2x 2000mAh; my rechargeable batteries have 2850mAh, which is quite a difference. The advantage of the rechargeable battery is that you can recharge it without taking it out of the device, so you don't need a charger.
Garmin also indicates compatibility with the GPSMAP 64s here :) Here you can see all compatible devices: https://buy.garmin.com/de-CH/CH/p/116480/pn/010-11874-00#devices
