Question about compatibility with ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-F GAMING and the i7-8700k: The standard clock is 2133 MHz, but as soon as X.M.P is activated with this RAM, no video signal is displayed, apparently something is incompatible. If "Ai Tweaker" is used and "Gaming/Video Edit" is selected as the profile, then a maximum of 3% more will be extracted from the clock rate. Previously 2x8GB with 3000 MHz were installed, the X.M.P. profile worked without any problems, unfortunately not with this RAM. Maximum clock speed is 2747 MHz, with the previous RAM 3000 MHz were possible... Could it be that 4000 MHz is too much after all? I don't know much about overclocking, which is why I'm using the X.M.P profile. Is the voltage or something similar too high? I just thought that according to the manual, which says that a maximum of 4000 MHz is possible, this doesn't seem to work in practice, right? The BIOS had to be reset to default values several times... Does anyone know what the board/CPU can still handle, for example 3200 MHz or slightly more? Thank you very much.
Of course, this also depends very much on what your CPU and the internal memory controller can handle.
According to the spec, your CPU is maxed out at 2666, everything above that is just luck or try & error, increase voltages, adjust timings, different board.
I have had them running at 1.5v on 4000 CL12. But it was also a lot of fiddling with the values
