If I plug the Icy Hub into my Asus Vivobook s14 via the USB-A 3.1 (Gen 1) port and then plug a docking station from HP (G2) into the HUB, will I be able to use other monitors?
With this HUB, you only achieve that USB TypeC data ports are available on a PC that only has USB TypeA data ports. This makes the device perfect. By 'data ports' I mean that I can only connect USB sticks. Mobile phones (with no charging) or external hard drives with USB-C might work, but then the power could be a problem, as the USB-A might not send enough to the C ports. It is not possible to turn a technically older (inferior) port into something better with a HUB. As far as I know, USB-C for docking / Thunderbolt / Displayport is always necessary directly on the device. There are USB-3 A docking stations with DisplayLink. However, there are restrictions on the supported resolution and the number of external displays.
Hello Enver.arifagic,
the HP G2 docking station must be connected directly to the computer. Unfortunately, cascading HUBs is not possible with this docking station.
