I don't understand exactly what the difference between write speed and read speed is. I am using Windows 10, equipped with USB 3.0 ports and SSD hard drive. I am interested in the transfer speed (copy-paste or cut-paste) of a large file (e.g. MKV or MP4 film) to this USB stick. What is the speed with this stick? The other sticks I have are slow, all about 10-12 MB/s. Thank you.

Helpful answer

Write speed: how quickly data can be transferred to the USB stick
Read speed: how quickly data can be transferred from the USB stick to a device.
For a budget USB, the values are quite alright. The read rate, for example, is quite good.

For transferring films, this stick is not mega fast, but if you want something faster, it is suitable for 2 CHF more, and with twice as much memory:
SanDisk Ultra Flair (64 GB, USB-A)

Please note that if your USB port on the PC is not fast enough, nothing will change. Always connect to the blue or red USB ports directly on the moteboard if you want maximum speed. Simply look for the blue ports on the laptop =)
