How can this adapter be taken away again? I should return the lamps and I can't get this thing off. Surely that can't be true! Who constructs such nonsense for what purpose?

It's not that complicated, just saw off the adaptor as close as possible to its base and any plastic parts with patience. Then use small pliers to remove the iron rings at the base of the plugs and you're done.

Hello together

As an alternative as well as a safe and accident-free variant, replace the EU plug with a CH plug and then have it checked by a specialist? This also works the other way round from CH plug to EU plug. :-)

According to the current rules of technology and the general understanding of safety for electrical energy, EU appliances may only be sold on the Swiss market with these non-removable fixed adapters. These fixed adapters would not necessarily have been developed for laypersons (persons who do not have a basic education in electrical engineering); the fixed adapter on an appliance imported from the EU to Switzerland is intended to prevent laypersons from putting themselves in danger of electrocution by connecting the plugs themselves.

Always be careful with electrical current and don't lose your nerve. :-)

All the best and good luck.

It cannot be removed without destroying it, this is certainly a permanent EU/CH adapter, if you want a removable adapter you should have chosen a travel plug adapter.

After about 5 minutes, I actually managed to remove the adapter from a Schuko plug without any major damage. I used a sturdy, blunt table knife and went in a circle into the slot between the plug and the adapter and carefully levered the adapter out millimetre by millimetre. Damage only in the sense that there are scratches on the Schuko contacts (due to the metal retaining claws of the adapter). I must also add that I did not insert the water protection pad between the plug and the adapter, which may have made it a little easier to lever out. No guarantee that it will always work like this, and please take care of your fingers, depending on which lever you use, as some force is needed. Good luck!

Is there a destruction manual somewhere?

I bought a Bosch shredder where the German plug is part of the unit and with a spring-loaded cover, a German extension cable would hold on well. Then, without thinking much, I put on the fix adapter that comes with it. The spring-loaded cover therefore no longer closes. I thought I was clever and bought a German extension cable, but now I can't get rid of the fix adapter, and if I destroy it, I might also destroy the unit.

Possibly lever out from the side.
Or remove the socket cover.
