Hi, How can I detect the correct resolution? My laptop doesn't show more than 1920 x 1080. - My drivers are up to date. - GPU is Geforce 940Mx(Supports until 3440 x 1440) - The cable is HDMI 4K . (Tried also with DP) - I have tried to uninstall the adapter and restart. (As mentioned in commends here.)

Just like the others who have answered I'd say that once drivers and video card issues are out of the way (to be sure Google how to clear the registry keys for the display and do that.) , Your next step is to suspect that the cable is at fault, make sure you have no adaptors in the line, i.e. you have one cable hdmi to hdmi.

I have the same issue. I believe that's a problem with the cable.
I would like to buy a new HDMI cable to have a better screen resolution but I am not sure which one is right.
Sorry I cannot help you with this.
