I just discovered that there are two versions of the Acer Predator XB271HU:

- UM.HX1EE.008
- UM.HX1EE.005

I have not been able to find any information about the differences on the Internet.

Does anyone know what the differences are between the two variants?

Hello, 

the -M.HX1EE.005 has an IPS panel with 144 Hz refresh rate

the UM.HX1EE.008 has an AHVA panel with a refresh rate of 165 Hz.

I own the UM.HX1EE.008 and am very satisfied with it. An ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 STRIX O8G-GAMING (8GB, High End) provides the necessary gaming performance for the monitor.

The only difference I could find after about 10 minutes of googling was that the 008 should need less power. But I think this also depends on the application and measurement. 
Otherwise I don't see any real difference.
