Hello everyone, https://www.digitec.ch/de/ShopList/Show?shopListId=57F553ADE35296097DD792B64B5E5B96 would like to put this system together. Opinions, suggestions and criticism are welcome. Greetings
Hello - the power supply seems a bit strong to me, 850W would be enough I think, even if you are planning SLI. The new GTX1080s are relatively humane in terms of power consumption. The case is just a bit too much plastic, I prefer aluminium and recently got the Phanteks Enthoo Primo (black/red), a really chic and noble part, looks less playful and very high quality, also available in white!
But all in all it looks good, if there is still budget, I would go for the ASUS Rampage V Edition 10 as motherboard, resp. I will afford it in connection with the i7 6850 and also upgrade it soon...
Greetings
Peter
Addendum: The ASUS Strix 1080 Gaming was rated as relatively loud in the trade press, there are apparently quieter providers. I still have the ASUS Strix 980ti OC in my case and it is also relatively loud when it has to work. But I have it under control to a certain extent via the fan curve.
Hello all,
Thank you very much for your feedback.
The ASUS RVE 10 motherboard will be purchased, quartered; I'm only still in two minds about the case.
In any case, you have really helped me.
Greetings
I can only agree with the previous speaker about the Phanteks enclosures. The statement about the power supply unit is also valid!
Attention with the memory! You have quad channels on the X99! So I would switch to 4x8 or 8x4 or do 8x8 right away.
Furthermore, I was not happy with the Corsair memory on my X99E-WS.
So I have also ordered the housing and I like it very much but I have not yet had time to pick it up at the post office and I will let you know more tomorrow.
Well, I have this exact case and I think it's really fantastic, looks incredible and feels high-quality. As an idea, I think that the Asus Sabertooth x99 motherboard is extremely cool in terms of colour. It looks great in general, has all the features: ASUS Sabertooth X99 (LGA 2011-v3, Intel X99, ATX)
Also as a tip, buy cablemod sleeved cables e.g. in white, this makes the whole thing much higher quality and you can wire it better. I also have the 1000W power supply, sure it's overkill but you'll never need to upgrade and it has platinum efficiency. anything over 650W is more than enough power though.
