Helpful answer

T7 and T9 are currently closer in price than when I bought my T7. I would probably go for the T9 today. However, in most cases, depending on the USB controller or the status of the interface on the computer, the data rate in practice is more likely to be between 300-800 MB/sec. than 1000/2000 MB/sec. even if the T7 or T9 could do that. As a basis for decision-making, you could first check the extent to which these speeds are supported by the computer using a suitable tool / manual or product link to the hardware manufacturer.

I've been using the Shield T7 for a long time, currently with RAW files from the Sony A7R V (61 megapixels) on the MacBook Pro. Never had any problems with the speed. But would probably buy a T9 today, as it's almost as expensive...
