The connections are proprietary. This means that the solar panels should come from the same manufacturer as the PowerBank, otherwise the product liability and manufacturer's guarantees will probably expire. Whether someone wants to take the risk (including the risk of fire) of making a connection cable on their own is up to each person. For my part, I advise against it.
