for my Mac i need the Satechi Aluminum Type-C Pro Hub Adapter (HDMI, USB 3.0). does this then also work with the Hub Adapter too? i want to download a program from the CD to my MacBookPro

I also use the DVD device on a USB hub, but not the same one as you. It works wonderfully under my Linux (which, like MacOS, is also Unix-based).
The prerequisite is that your USB hub supplies enough power for the burner. I think that will work.
