Yes, the camera can send e-mails with pictures when motion is detected. Depending on the mail account that is stored there, the mails end up in spam instead of in the inbox. The reason is that the camera does not send a "message ID" when sending mails. Certain mail providers regard such mails as spam.
However, there are also mail providers who insert a missing "Message-ID" when sending mail. However, not all of them do this and, in my opinion, it would be the camera's job anyway.
