Does the part work with the unspeakable Sunrise Internebox (Sagem)? Because it can't do anything at all!

Bridge mode worked for me (Sunrise One Gigabit, which uses the Swisscom FTTH connection), but the SunriseBox accepts telephone calls, not the Fritzbox, i.e. ISDN telephones or DECT telephones cannot be used on the FritzBox (only to make external calls). It is better to connect the 5490 directly to the fibre optic network, select "Fiber" for Internet access, access data "No", "Change connection settings", then enter downstream and upstream "1000000" kBit/s, set VLAN "10" and PBIT "0", "Obtain IP automatically via DHCP". Restart, then load the latest firmware (06.84). Set up phone number under Telephony, registrar "gra.ims.sunrise.ch". Sunrise must supply user name and password, otherwise telephony will not work! At the bottom, select "Always log on via Internet connection". Sunrise TV does not need any special settings, it works.

I tried for hours to connect the Fritzbox 5490 to Sunrise (Internet start), with VLAN 10 and without but without success!
I only had success with the converter CTS MCT-3002 W2A-DR in connection with the Fritzbox 7390 or 7490, which automatically received all data (VOIP, VLAN etc.) from Sunrise. PS: Internet VLAN is now 131!

Since thanks to these answers I managed to use my Fritzbox 5490 instead of the Sunrise Internet Box, I would like to share my experience with you. First I chose the settings suggested above:
- Speed 1000000 kbit/s in both directions,
- VLAN 131 (instead of the one suggested above)
- DHCP automatically via fritz.box
The internet worked straight away, but unfortunately not the phone. The Sunrise support line didn't know what to do when I asked for a username and password in addition to the registar (gra.ims.sunrise.ch)... They wanted to check internally and call me afterwards. I missed the call and nothing worked in my home network (because the IP was set to 192.168.178.1): They had reinitialised the FritzBox from their side (VLAN 131 there) and entered the telephony parameters they asked for. In the process, the password was reset to the original FritzBox password (on the back of the device). After that I was able to re-enter all my devices and LAN configuration and everything seems to work now.

Speed-wise, this solution is around 900 Mbps in both directions.

Hope it helps.

Yes, that works.
For Internet access, you simply have to select VLAN 10.
It's a bit trickier with Sunrise TV, but you can manage that too.
The only thing I haven't managed yet is the VOIP.
I suspect the problem is the password, which you can't read out (and which Sunrise won't give out - according to Internet information - I haven't asked yet).

Our new FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber has arrived 🤩 and is currently available from selected Swiss providers (Init7 - Fiber7 and soon also from Green Business, iWay AG, and Ticinocom SA). It will also be available in stores soon.

I was also unsure if I could use it to replace my Sunrise Internet Box modem for my fibre connection and lo and behold it worked!

Since the information on the Internet was sparse and contradictory, I have recorded my experiences with it in a blog entry: https://randner.blogspot.com/

Including a tip on how to update the firmware if the box does not display an update function because of the chosen provider.

It works with Sunrise (phone, internet, TV): this device is supported. But:

Before to buy it: phone Sunrise, and ask if they still support this device: things changes, and this router is becoming old. They gives this exact device to Sunrise Business clients, so they support the device (as end 2019), but they cannot deliver it to private clients.
You will receive also the Sagem box (which I never unboxed).

I think they should do some configuration, in order to use this device: for the initial few hours, internet packets were lost inside Sunrise routers, but after them, the router was fully working. On my configuration: with old FB (ADSL, from Sunrise) and new FB (5490 from Digitec) I have "Other provider" (so none of Sunrise), and VLAN seems different. But sunrise set it up for me. [I copied all configuration from old router to new + just tell that you have internet from fiber]. Note: expert view, allow ISP to configure/change configuration of the modem.

I'm happy with this modem (on Sunrise). Note: I have two additional "mesh" FB 7490 routers (also from Digitec), two Sunrise TV boxes, Devolo, etc.: Only with FritzBox you can have a otherwise complex setup very simple.

Hello all.

A quick piece of information that might help some. I have a ZyWall with my Synology behind it. I then changed from UPC (bridge mode works) to Sunrise (no bridge mode). Stupid now, actually I would like to have my ZyWall on the Internet address, as it was with the UPC cable modem before.

Since I don't want to configure the Fritz, I did the following: I statically defined the IP of my ZyWall on the Sunrise box. Then I defined a NAT on all ports with a forwarding to the ZyWall. I then deactivated the firewall on the Sunrise and switched off the WLAN.

As far as I can tell, the solution works perfectly.

Hello all
I am also a bit late with my request. Can someone please send me these instructions? My email address jenny.harrison@gmx.ch
How to create a config script for TV: VLAN 121 and VOIP: VLAN 117?
Thank you in advance for your answers.

Complain to Sunrise and ask if you can have a Fritzbox. That shouldn't be a problem, as far as I know, the Sunrise-branded Fritzbox has no restrictions except that it's not the absolute top model.

In the Sunrise Internetbox, a bridge mode can be set up in expert mode. Then it would be possible to use the Internet connection via the LAN1 on the Fritzbox and at the same time you then have the public IP address on the LAN1 of the Fritzbox for any myfritz.net functions or port forwarding.

Guys, I have a Sunrise Internet subscription with IPv4+v6. I was able to replace the Sunrise Internet Box with my own modem and I can also use it to access the Internet via IPv4. The device uses OPNsense. Unfortunately, Sunrise support did not want to give me any information on how to get into the v6 network. What I found out is that Sunrise gives me a v6 address with IPv6 Rapid Deployment, but I couldn't find out what the IP address of their 6th gateway is.
Does anyone happen to know this address?
