Does the enclosed cable also go to a normal USB socket on the PC or do I need a USB-C socket on the PC?

Helpful answer

You can connect the cable to a normal USB-A port.

According to the data sheet, the interface is "USB 2 Hi-Speed Type C". So it also works with USB 2. On my new device, the ports are USB-C on the scanner side and USB-A on the computer side.

But what irritates me is the saying on the installation instructions: "You cannot connect the USB cable provided to other devices as it is only suitable for this scanner". What does this mean, is the cable now according to USB standard or according to a separate Canon standard. In this case it would be highly dangerous, because the cable is black like all the others and then quickly ends up on another device.
