Do you think Lightroom 6 is useful on an HP ProBook 440G3 (Windows 7 pro/ WIN 10 ready) or is the notebook too small/weak for it?

I can only agree with the previous speaker regarding RAM. With the software, however, I would advise a subscription. You pay about CHF 12 per month and always have the latest version. Plus Photoshop, even if you don't want to use it, which would be a shame. The latest Lightroom from the subscription has also become faster and the stand-alone version we are talking about here will never be updated.

I have 32GB RAM, SSD and a 2 year old i7 and Lightroom stock every now and then. It's just not very well programmed in that respect. But it also depends on the size of the RAW files you are working with, the size of the screen and how many corrections you make to the image. Does your notebook only have 4GB RAM? That could be a bit tight. Also, an SSD for fast loading of previews is an advantage. And of course a large screen, preferably calibratable, is also an advantage. I think the laptop is rather at the lower limit in terms of specs.
But I think for 130.- the programme offers endless possibilities and if you are interested in RAW processing, it is definitely worth it. Later you can always upgrade the hardware/buy new.
