The dual tube circuit featuring a 12AX7 in the input stage and a 12AU7 in the output stage (instead of the usual transformer) refines the sE electronics Gemini II, a large diaphragm condenser microphone that utilizes a dual tube circuit. The input side uses 12AX7 tubes, while the output side employs 12AU7 tubes, which provide the signals with the characteristic warmth of tubes. Although the sound of the sE Gemini II can broadly be described as vintage, it does not lack the highs needed to compete with contemporary microphones.
