Product details
For many years, the Volkswagen Beetle was the car where it all began. Countless young people learned to drive with it, and many people drove it as their first car in life. Over the years, continuous improvements were made to the vehicle to keep the Beetle competitive. Even in 1968, the Beetle had standards that made it competitive against its contemporaries. The formerly 1131 cc engine had now evolved into a power unit with 1500 cc displacement and 44 hp. Disc brakes in the front and a new trailing arm rear axle kept this temperament in check. The headlights were now vertical, and the tank could be filled through a side flap.
