A bit expensive but very practical
I installed an SSD (Crucial MX300 512gb), the box offers good performance in usb3.
The big plus is that it can emulate a CD/DVD drive from disk images (ISO). No need to burn a CD of Acronis, Norton Ghost or a live Linux distribution (gparted?), just put the image on your external disk, choose the CD or "Dual" mode (CD + external disk) and select the ISO to mount with the little wheel.
The interface is not always very responsive but it does the job.
15.09.2017: the SSD gave up the ghost (I/O error) and I think that the controller of the ZM-VE350 has something to do with it.Pro

Recommendable, reliably boots up ISO files (OS)
We bought this for the purpose of being able to copy *.ISO files into the _iso folder and thus quickly copy an operating system to a server or PC when booting in ODD mode. This works really well. Only the control via the turnable and pushable button on the left side is a bit awkward.
We used a Samsung SSD 850 Pro for this and the throughput via USB-3 is decently fast with up to 110 MB/s in write mode. A new OS can also be installed quickly. We are therefore convinced by the product. If the control via the button were a little better, it would be perfect.Pro

A must-have for every system technician and IT supporter.
Menu control via jog switch is a bit awkward.

Good hard drive enclosure for people who handle a lot of ISOs.
Offers good functions via the integrated display.
- Hard disk can be used directly as an ISO drive (virtual drive).
- One-touch backup function
- Many useful setting options via the integrated display (e.g. sleep timer, HDD/ODD mode, etc.)
- Transfer speed OK (tested with SSD)
Unfortunately, a plastic part for attaching the hard drive broke off during the 3rd hard drive replacement, but with some 2K glue the problem could be solved.
