Almost endless battery and reliable connection
We installed the bell directly, battery level 82% at the end of November - now, at the end of January: 80%. What are they using, small nuclear batteries? So far the first doorbell that works reliably, we are delighted.

I love this device, it allows me to keep an eye on the entrance to the house from wherever I am (all I need is an internet connection).

In the Xiaomi Home "universe
Actually bought from front doorbell "outside". Only the instructions state that the Xiaomi Smart Doorbell 3 is not waterproof. What is much more annoying, however, is that the connection to a modern WLAN, such as mine with mesh, is simply not possible. Workaround: I dug out an old 2.4 GHZ repeater from my technology box and set up a separate SmartHome WLAN - just for the doorbell. Now it works ...
Another drawback is that the video stream can only be viewed via the cloud app. On the positive side, it's free, but of course in China. Direct access via rtsp is not possible with the current software status of March 2023.
I am curious about the battery life over months, which I cannot yet evaluate.
Buy again no, therefore 3 stars.Pro
