    Perfect

Really pleased with my 3 x FlexHD (plus an old AC-Pro for guests & IoT).
Yes, there are some quite steep parts on the Unifi learning curve, but the UI community forum is extremely helpful and regularly visited by UI tech
    folk
Unifi is not plug & play, but when you get it going it just works (my AC-Pro has not needed any intervention or reboot for 4+ years apart from firmware upgrades).
Be aware that UI tries to suck usage data (blocked at my firewall).
If you are a home user, you should probably avoid the free cloud management UI provides unless you can imagine some use-case for remotely managing your home WiFi.

    Pro

    • Performance
    • Price
    • Aesthetics
    • PoE (injector provided with single units)
    • Centralised controller for lots of UI AP
    • Great roaming if you get TX power and minimum rate set correctly

    Contra

    • NOT plug & play (but worth the effort)
    • Controller software could be "less Beta"
    • STUPID Shuko mains plug for POE injector
    • Not all Swiss-allowed 5G channels available
    • Some "fantasy" options should NOT be on the controller

    Recommended, beautiful design

Great as an extension for the Dream Machine. Relatively easy to configure when the Dream Machine is already in operation. Beautiful design.

WLAN as it should be - but watch out for the transmitting power!

Works easily, quickly and stably even with many clients.

But beware: In my setup, properly with country code Switzerland, I found that the transmit power with the setting "Auto" is much too high, namely 26 dBm (2.4 GHz)
and 29 dBm (5 GHz) EIRP.

This exceeds the allowed values in Switzerland (max. 20 dBm EIRP on 2.4 GHz, 23 dBm EIRP on 5 GHz, channel 32-48) by 6 dBm, or factor 4 (!). Apart from that, almost 1 Watt EIRP is quite obscene for an indoor application, especially since the terminals can never "transmit back" with the same power. This gives a nice "full stop" on the signal display and nice download rates everywhere, but not necessarily a more stable connection - and the neighbors have more interference. So: reduce transmit power manually.

    Small, compact product

Ultra quick to set up via the UniFi Controller and optimized for your home. The format resp. the size of the product is just great. Looks much better on the living room furniture than the Discus such as the AC-Lite. The blue LED ring illuminates the living room in the dark so nicely that you don't need a light to walk around at night.

    Pro

    • Attractive case size
    • Quick setup
    • Powered directly by PoE at the switch
