This AP is ideal for the home or for smaller offices. The low power consumption is important for continuous operation, which is very good here at 4-5W, also significantly better than the U6 Pro. In addition, the jitter is significantly lower than with the Pro variant, which is a clear plus. I was never convinced by the U6 Pro's, but I was convinced by the U6 Plus as a further development of the U6 Lite. Bringing out the U6 Lite without Wifi6 in 2.4 Ghz was very weak. Now everything is good. Unreservedly recommendable!

Super easy to operate and use and powerful performance.
Has significantly increased the coverage for me!

Ubiquiti is not the fastest, but is extremely reliable. 1Gb is more than enough anyway.

I have purchased 4 U6+ access points to replace an existing Cisco installation that is over 10 years old.
Of course, Ubiquiti also needs a controller, either the UniFi Cloud Key, or you can install the controller yourself in a Windows or Linux VM.
I did the latter. Installing the software according to the official instructions is a bit tricky and error-prone.
It's better and much easier with the script from Glenn Rietveld, which can be found in the Ubiquiti forum: https://community.ui.com/questions...
This also makes it very easy to set up and renew a Let's Encrypt certificate automatically.
I highly recommend the scripts from Glenn Rietveld. I have looked at the scripts in detail, and he has written them really cleanly, and has been maintaining them for the Community for over 6 years. So if you want to install the UniFi Network Controller under Linux yourself, you should definitely take a look at these scripts!
For everyone else: Use the Cloud Key.
As far as the physical installation of the APs is concerned, there's nothing to complain about: Ubiquiti supplies a drilling template (with built-in mini spirit level, nice gag!), screws and wall plugs.
About the UniFi Controller and the Cloud Key: I don't have the latter myself, but I've seen it at a colleague's. The range of functions is identical.
A Ubiquti Online user account is required for configuration, local accounts are not possible. Multi-factor authentication is supported.
And - apart from the user account - everything else remains local in the UniFi server or on the cloud key.
With InnerSpace, you can draw the floor plans of the rooms and floors (you can upload your own plans as PDF or PNG), and the software calculates the signal strength of the individual frequency spectra and illumination areas depending on the type of wall (concrete, drywall, glass).
Very cool, because if you can't calculate this yourself, you can save a lot of time finding the optimum placement of the access points.
Basically, all access points form an overall network, i.e. the SSIDs set up are broadcast on all APs.
The SSIDs can also be configured selectively per AP.
Meshing, seamless roaming and handover work perfectly out-of-the-box and without interruptions.
The WiFi Optimizer allows automatic optimisation of WiFi channels and signal strength.
You have to put a lot more effort into this with Cisco!
WiFi uplinks are also supported, i.e. where there is no network cable, the APs can act as a bridge for each other and extend the coverage.
Power consumption: 1 U6+ consumes around 3.8 W in idle mode and around 6 W under load.
That's a huge difference from the Ciscos, which already consume 15 W in idle mode.
An absolute recommendation from me!

I needed help with the installation.
But I am also anything but computer savvy.
