There's nothing to complain about with this drive. It is also well suited as an all-round hard disk in addition to an SSD.

Is it normal that it is shipped in a large box without any protection (see photo)? Nor is it locked in the HD box (see second photo)?
Contra
Switched off the NAS, removed the defective hard drive, installed the Toshiba N300 and updated the system without any problems.

So it is still soon I guess, but they are fine, they are running 2x2 in RAID 0 and they are doing fine so far. I have a 2.5Gbps link to that storage box, and it is fully used when transferring files to them. However, at first when I hydrated the first 2x4tb raid 0 volume, they were a little noisy, but now is fine. I will get another set.

Three pcs. à 4TB in a Synology DS920+ without any problems and quietly in use. Previously I had a DS213 with two WD Red à 2TB in use, the noises caused by the WD Red HDs are rather louder than those of the Toshiba N300 HDs.

I have already used several of these Toschibas for RAID0 and RAID5/6 and am completely satisfied with the performance and reliability. What I find particularly positive is the large cache, which is a good 2-4x larger than with other manufacturers. And that the throughput of the disks is located in the upper third of the charts, is certainly not to be despised.
