I've never been a fan of smart TVs. But I am of Siny. Software often buggy, adverts, slow, update guarantee?
I'd prefer to simply have a higher quality TV display and be able to decide for myself what kind of players I want to connect. The TV should also offer modern and old connections instead of software gimmicks. Displayport, jack for headphones etc.
Here's the problem. Many older people are slowly losing their devices that are over 10 years old. I am then asked for clever replacements. I can't recommend much at the moment, as old habits can't be fulfilled.
My father has just installed a KD55x85L.
Mum in the kitchen playing school (makes noise) TV volume for mum on low, for dad via wireless headphones louder is no longer possible. The TV simply no longer has a headphone output! Like almost all newer devices.
A splitter used to be attached to the headphone output to operate his hearing aid transmitter... Also no longer possible.
OK Bluetooth headphones connect... Sound only comes out of the headphones and no longer from the TV. There is no setting to use both. The parties can't understand why this shouldn't work and why the son bought such a piece of junk. Pfisters, Müllers and Schneiders still work on 25-year-old devices!
The manufacturers simply don't think about it! It's the old people who have little contact and the TV is on half the day so that there's still something going on at home!
I've spent over 5 hours researching how to solve the problem. Soundbars don't seem to be the solution either, and there are no analogue converters to jack either.
An attempt with

is started. It simply can't be that any more.
I'm disappointed by the development and the fact that I still have to spend hours on support for such rubbish.
Yes, for a 25-year-old Netflix, Disney and YouTube watcher, the TV is fine.
For people with hearing impairments and other requirements, many smart TVs are simply no longer suitable and sooner or later that will be the masses!

I bought this TV as I had a few years ago bought a cheap asian tv to tide us over for a short time. The old TV had google tv but was slow when doing anything such as changing channel or just moving around the menus on google tv. Sometimes it restarted itself too which was driving me mad so I decided to get a new one.
I have always had Sony TV's as I love the quality of the product. The picture quality and the speed of processing is what matters to me. I chose this product because it was a 2023 TV which I hoped meant it would have enough processing (and other resources) to be able to operate smoothly and quickly. I was not disappointed.
Upon turning the TV on and using a network cable connection to the internet, it was easy to setup and yes really fast. I have been running it now for almost a week and it has been excellent. The colours are vibrant and it we play a console on it also which looks great.
Check the pack as you get some free films with the TV via the Sony app store which was a nice touch. The remote is good also. Like a playstation 3 remote for anyone who bought that back in the day, it is bluetooth, so you dont have to have line of sight to the remote sensor for it to work. Its quicker and smoother when you need it. You can also of course use your smartphone as a remote also using google.
I would highly recommend this TV. I dont leave many reviews on here but this TV is worth mentioning. I did have my eye on an 8k Sony model but they are very expensive, but if you want the best I would go there and take a look.

The TV is simply top! Good picture quality, good colour display and a wide range of functions that are very helpful. Highly recommended.
