Finally a great standard zoom for Sony aps-c, sharp to the corners, great sun stars, pleasant bokeh and f2. 8.
Weight is just ok. Unfortunately it lacks a stabiliser.
Super sharp images right to the edge of the frame, no comparison to the low-light and very blurry kit lens (16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS). I hesitated for a long time whether I should buy the Sony 16-55mm with the a6000/a6400 (neither of which has an image stabiliser) or whether I should go for the Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8, which is slightly inferior in quality but has an image stabiliser. In fact, the vast majority of pictures were still sharp without a tripod, both with the a6000 (2 example photos with mountain motif) and with the a6400 (3 example photos from the butterfly house). Otherwise, a tripod or simply putting the camera down somewhere for a moment helps. This way I was able to take good photos even on holiday. The programmable button on the lens is very practical! All in all, I'm very happy with the lens. :-)

So far I've mainly used the SEL35f18 on the a6500. The 16-55mm offers more flexibility with a little more weight and is still very fast.

I think for a lens for the APSC sensor, this Sony G lens is close to the quality of the GM lenses for full frame. I love this lens and the range of 16-55 is optimal. For landscape, portrait and events even for street art I like to use it a lot.

I replaced the 16-70mm f4 ZA OSS Zeiss Vario-Tessar included in the bundle with the Alpha6500 with this faster lens.
In addition, I still have two fast fixed focal lengths. The zoom offers flexibility with lower weight and appealing speed.

Perfect with a stabilized camera (IBIS).
Even though I already have 4 other lenses, this one will be attached to my camera most of the time.
In my opinion it is the best zoom lens for the a6500 or a6600.
