very good soundbar with big firmware problem and bad support from Sennheiser
The soundbar is still stuck and there is still no new firmware in sight. According to support, the problem is known and a new firmware should be rolled out. Unfortunately, Sennheiser has not managed to deliver a working firmware after almost 7 months. The problem can be solved if... no HDMI devices are connected to the Ambeo Plus, except via eArc, and no devices are connected to the Ambeo Plus via Bluetooth or Airplay, Google Chromecast etc. Spotify via soundbar should also be avoided. Sorry, you pay over 1k for such a soundbar and you can't use the basic functions because a firmware 7 months ago caused the problems... Therefore no purchase recommendation for all Sennheiser products!

The soundbar always hangs up with the LED status bar, the soundbar then no longer switches itself off. It has no influence on the sound quality, but with a soundbar over 1100.- you expect a premium product with premium support. Unfortunately, a firmware that fixes the problems has been promised since the end of last year, but has not yet been delivered. The firmware version 1.0.106 is faulty and the only way to fix it is to cut the power. I have now connected the soundbar to a toggle switch socket so that I can switch the soundbar on and off for a reset, as the reset then no longer works via software.
For this lousy support from Sennheiser, this new soundbar unfortunately only gets 3 stars from me instead of 4.

This soundbar exceeds my expectations. It delivers very rich sound. In Dolby Ambeo mode, the sound comes a little closer to a real 7.1 system, but the sound from behind is lacking and could sound better or worse depending on the room. The bass is rich. I didn't expect that from such a soundbar.
The soundbar does tend to hang up from time to time, which is noticeable when the lights on the input sources no longer switch off. However, it has no effect on the functionality, it continues to work in the background. However, it is annoying and happens relatively often with my model.
You have to be very careful with the volume of different input sources. When I switched the input source, I woke up almost my entire neighbourhood at night.
The nets like to catch dust. However, hiding the soundbar is not a solution, as it needs space on the sides and top for the virtual surround sound.
When buying this soundbar, you need to be aware that it is relatively high. Depending on the viewing angle, the soundbar could be in the way of some very flat TVs.

Ambeo plus
First Ambeo received in December 2023, worked but regularly lost connection with TV until November 2024, then never switched on again. Exchange under warranty. Received second Ambeo in December 2024, worked for 3 weeks and again lost connection with TV. Firmware problem at Senheiser, still not resolved. Unacceptable for a product of this price! Not recommended.

Compatibility with the Sunrise TV Box works (via ARC connection), but the TV Box regularly hangs when starting up (the problem is probably more with the Sunrise Box than with the soundbar). The UPC remote control is connected to the TV and the soundbar, but it takes a while for everything to boot up. The TV box regularly hangs during this process. The soundbar was automatically paired with the remote control, but the volume control rarely works with the UPC remote control. The soundbar cannot be found via the Remote control pairing menu (Sunrise TV Box), not even via the device code.
Otherwise a great product! Thank you Sennheiser for the consistently good quality, beautiful product language and top functionality. It's worth spending a little more.Pro
