Best smartwatch at the moment!
Definitely top as a successor to my LG G Watch R.
The leather strap is ok, but it was replaced by a black stainless steel strap, which looks even better.
Runs very smoothly, sufficient runtime with Always On (approx. 1 day).
It takes some getting used to that it is not always visible that notifications are available.

A smartwatch that convinces all along the line.
About the battery life, which is often criticised....
After 24 hours, I still have about 45-50% battery.
By default, services are activated that are not absolutely necessary, but still suck in the background.
My Gear is mostly used together with my mobile phone, so I have deactivated wi-fi.

The Gear S2 is really a successful smartwatch. It is easy to use, looks really good and offers many functions.
I've been using it with my Samsung Galaxy S7 for weeks now and I'm really satisfied. I have to make concessions when it comes to battery life. But when I switch it off at night, it easily lasts 3 days.
What bothers me a lot, however, is that the display is very susceptible to scratches. In my opinion, that shouldn't be the case with a watch in this price range.
Unfortunately, you can only see the latest message from WhatsApp. However, this can be remedied with the W-History app.Pro

Despite the Samsung Gear S3, in my view the best 'smartwatch' at the moment
After I was once again put off by the **oversized** successor to the Samsung Gear S3 at digitec Zurich yesterday, a few, but almost entirely extremely positive words (bought from id as part of a promotion, by the way) after there is still no review here.
After almost a year, not a single problem has occurred so far, runtime on average about four days (display brightness 7, switch on at the touch of a button), and no 'signs of wear' on the case and display :-)
The selection of Tizen apps contains what I consider useful, including (integrated) functional music player, weather, mail, calendar, calls etc etc, 'back-to-parking' navigation, altimeter and much more. I don't find the fact that there is no GPS built into the watch a disadvantage. The well thought-out automated recording of sporting activities, which can of course also be triggered manually, works reliably.
The only thing I miss is the lack of a loudspeaker, not for 'telephoning' but for an acoustic alarm, in addition to the vibration alarm, as well as an automatic brightness adjustment to the lighting conditions.
For the Samsung Gear S4, which will probably be released in 2017, I hope that it will finally be suitable for swimming, a flaw that the Gear S2 shares with most smartwatches. Contactless charging and/or micro-USB would be another bonus. And with the lunette, it might be possible to do more than 'just' navigate through the watch's functions ;-)Pro

Super watch. I already have the successor, but I was quite satisfied with this device. I didn't like the battery life, but that's the only thing that bothered me. I think the Samsung wristband change system is great.

Very good smartwatch for a fair price
The watch delivers what it promises. The battery performance is, in my opinion, amazing (2-3 days). Even if you leave the brightness of the screen at the relatively high default value (but less is quite enough) and change the heart rate measurement to "check regularly" through a setting in the options. The watch has become a loyal companion of mine. For the price, absolutely recommendable...

A must have for Samsung users
The Samsung Gear is just totally ingenious! You can do so many things except make phone calls.... It's also waterproof and has a heart rate monitor, pedometer, etc.

A very beautiful almost noble (Gear S2 Classic) device
I am very excited about the Gear S2 Classic. Pairing was very easy and charging with the wireless charging station was a dream. Simply place the watch in the cradle and an LED indicator light shows if the watch is charging. What I like is that the clock can also be used as a table clock when it is in the charging station. The display automatically rotates 90 degrees clockwise.
The apps respond very quickly. Unfortunately, the selection is still quite small. This is probably due to the Tizen operating system. It is also a pity that Samsung does not offer the possibility to design your own watch face via the Gear Manager. Fortunately, there is a solution via mrtimemaker.com where you can choose from many designs, but you can also create a complete design of dial and hands yourself. Patience and knowledge of English required.
All in all, a top device. I can't comment on the battery life yet. As with smartphones, it depends on the user. If you play around a lot, the battery will drain faster.Pro

Unfortunately, I will have to return the Watch.
I can't connect it to my Galaxy Note 3 because I have a custom ROM on it.
But it works fine with a non-Samsung phone with custom ROM.

The display in "sleep mode" is extremely meagre and disappointing. The watchfaces are limited and there aren't that many apps yet either. The LG G Watch R is clearly ahead. It often does not react to the rotating movement of the arm and thus remains in sleep mode.
