    Maximum 1000 lumens

Ordered the large 60x60 variant because I want to have a 18m2 room really brightly lit when needed. Since 4200 lumens seemed to me more than enough. After mounting the bitter disappointment during the first test in the evening. Even at maximum brightness level and cold white, the lamp reaches a maximum of twilight. Can not understand the positive assessment regarding brightness here absolutely. The previous 3xGU10 spots with 910 lumens each (total 2730 lumens) are subjectively considered twice as bright as the Philips panel. Unfortunately, a known problem with the Hue lights; however, I thought that 4200 lumens just have to do - they do not, unfortunately! I recommend anyone looking for a really bright panel to look at the competition - Hue is just good as a deco/ambient light, but never as a main light.

Nice looking Light with bright output but difficult to install

I installed this in my small office room to provide bright but even light to all corners & it works really well.
As with all hue products it is easy to setup in the app.

The biggest drawback with the square style Aurelle
lamps is they are difficult to install. (same for the 30x30 and 60x60)
The baseplate is simple, but the wires & controller are all inside the light itself which is heavy due to the metal construction.
You need pretty long wires to be able to connect it before installing (I have about 20cm of free wire & it was fiddly holding the lamp & placing the wires.
Luckily the lamp has pushfit connectors so no screwing is required.

The next difficult task is to connect the lamp to the baseplate & keep it in position while trying to access the screws on the side which fix it in place.
There is only 2-3cm clearance to the ceiling & they are set back 10cm from the edge of the lamp. Jedi powers come in handy here to find the screwhead.
We succeeded with 3 people & some very tired arms at the end.

Happy once it was installed but lots of nice advice given to the designers while we did it.

For info: the rectangular version is much easier to install as the fixing screws are at the edge of the lamp & it is slightly deeper that the smaller square versions.

    Exactly what I wanted

Meets my needs as an office lamp. In my opinion, it is bright enough for an average room. It can be easily mounted on the ceiling and operated via the light switch. For dimming or changing the light mode, there is the included remote control, with which you can also switch the lamp on/off. It can also be controlled with the app, but I didn't test it because I don't need it. I find the price-performance ratio very fair and compared to other ceiling lamps, this one is quite cheap.

    Where are the 4200 lumens?

How can a manufacturer write 4200 lumens here? My old 4000k, non-dimmable panel with ~2000 lumens feels twice as bright.

I assume that several LED rows for the different colour temperatures are installed here, and that when
added together they probably produce the 4200 lumens, but they never shine together at full power. The milky plastic pane then probably swallows another 1000 lumens.

Technically, of course, it's a great product. But if you buy the thing because of the 4200 lumens, you will be really disappointed.
