A paper user manual is not supplied by the manufacturer. You first have to download the Owlet app to install the Smart Sock 3. In the app, one can also find an instruction manual and instruction videos on various topics. The Smart Sock is installed with the help of the app. The app guides you through the installation. Unfortunately, this did not work for us at all. The Owlet Sock does not yet support a 5GHz Internet connection. Our router can support 2.4GHz in addition to 5GHz, but this was not so easy to install via the app. Only with the help of customer service, we were able to connect to our router via the PC. Since then, we have a stable connection. The battery of the sock holds very well. We get through the night without any problems, even if our daughter sleeps 11 or 12 hours. The battery is recharged in about 1 hour.
Data on heart rate and oxygen saturation can be tracked in the app in real time. If the values deviate from the normal values, you will be informed by both the app and the base station. A song sounds both in the cell phone and from the base station. I find this very good, because even if the phone is off times, you are certainly informed about deviations.
In addition to the real-time values, the app also stores the average values over the day, so that you also get a history of heart rate and oxygen saturation of the child. A sleep analysis is also performed by the app.
Our daughter is now 4 months old and when she is awake, she struggles a lot, which in turn leads to false alarms, even if the sock is properly attached to the foot.
In summary, however, we can say that the monitoring of heart rate and oxygen saturation works. From there a clear purchase recommendation.
However, if you want to buy the sock mainly because of the sleep analysis, I would advise against this device.

I wanted the gadget anyway, but when our little one wasn't breathing at birth, I knew it was essential. I want to know that all is well at night, but also during the day when he is in the room without us.
Unfortunately, the range is so poor that we can only use the sock directly in the baby's room. It doesn't work in the bedroom with the co-sleeper, even though there's only the bathroom in between. The range is not sufficient. And if you pick it up in your arms and walk into the kitchen, that's the end of it too.
In addition, the device only gives a warning when the blood oxygen level is below 80%. In neonatology we were told that below 90% is already critical for newborns. I have no idea why you can't set this value.
I use the sock anyway, but only during the day and often with connection problems... What a shame!
UPDATE: so after 4 weeks I'm of the opinion that they're selling big hardware rubbish here. As soon as the sock is more than 3 metres away from the station, the connection is constantly interrupted. It's such a pain in the arse.
