After several attempts with different lenses and zoom factors, I finally found the right one. The lens does not impress with its wide angle but with its ability to bring out details. And it does that perfectly. My fears about being able to hold a 12x zoom steady at all because of the high magnification have evaporated with this lens. I can hold it more steady than a 10x30. I don't know how they do it.
If you are looking for a light and comfortable 12x binocular, you are well served here - also in terms of price.

I guess this is a good compromise for price/quality. There are no better options for this price and still are Nikon. The optics are very good tho. I think the only thing where you feel the price is in the materials. For instance, the upper lens protector is made of hard plastic instead of rubber. Overall happy with them

I have replaced my very old family binoculars with the "Nikon Monarch M5 12x42" and am pleasantly surprised. In contrast to my "Swarovski NL Pure 12x42", you can also leave it to the grandchild to observe animals. I am thrilled.

Fulfils my expectations as an amateur nature observer.

Very satisfied with these binoculars. Very good value for money. I was expecting binoculars that were perhaps more compact and slightly lighter, but you can see straight away that they are of high quality and robust. I'll have to wait and see how much they weigh in use, but otherwise they're perfect.
