Navigon 4350 max, Bluetooth, TMC, European maps
A very good sat nav that has been cut down in price.
But Navigon had a strategy to use the full potential.
potential, if you want to download the software from Navigon, the
Costs around 60,Euro not cheap.
I think it's a shame that the price is a bit too high, but otherwise it's a very good navigation device.
I used it in Ticino and Italy.
Touchscreen reacts very poorly or not at all at the bottom of the screen!
This makes the device "unusable" in practice.
This may only be an isolated case, but it is very annoying.
I would not recommend or buy it for this reason!
So just so I have also noticed: The suction cup mount is allowed without problems in Switzerland, as long as it does not obstruct the view and does not exceed a certain percentage of the window (don't have the number in my head) But nobody I know who uses a sat nav has ever had problems with suction cup mounts.
The device is really very good, clear and finds the satellites very quickly. And the positioning is also very accurate. I also have the impression that the price/performance ratio is extremely good. I also did not notice the touchscreen problems mentioned in certain test reports.
Since my Medion is slowly getting on in years and has more and more quirks, I had to look for something new.
The choices were Garmin, Becker, mio, Medion and Navigon.
After thinking about it for a while, Navigon won.
It has a very fast GPS receiver (Sirf-Star III), a fast CPU and lots of memory.
All important details that leave something to be desired in other models.
I also find the possibility of downloading the latest map material free of charge within 30 days of first use more than ingenious.
Then, for the price of 19 euros, a 2-year update and you're set for a long time.
The operation is very simple and so is the guidance.
You can switch between 2D and 3D.
The voice output is also clear and distinct.
The highlight is the Bluetooth connection to a mobile phone. This makes it possible to make phone calls via the device. Dial the number on the device and use it as a hands-free function.
The addresses of the mobile phone can also be copied and used directly from the device as an address for the navigation system.
All in all, I would buy the device again immediately.
The only negative points are that it doesn't come with a case and that the car mount is not complete. It only comes with a holder for the windscreen, which is forbidden in Switzerland. The navigation device must not obscure the view and therefore must not be attached to the windscreen. An adhesive base to stick it on the dashboard was missing.
