The matte black design with green accents of the MSI X870E Tomahawk looks great in my setup. It offers the best value for money in the X870E range and boots up in just 10 seconds.

I had a problem with this motherboard: the M2_1 slot only worked in PCIe Gen 1, so only 900 MB/s instead of 7400 MB/s. After contacting MSI support, I was able to install BIOS version E7E59AMSI.2A41. And now it's PCI Gen 4.

The MSI X870E WiFi is one of the few boards that did not cause any issues during the first boot. My recent boards all had issues with either the USB and M2 ports, or with bent pins straight from the factory, so I am thankful for the quality assurance at MSI!
Look-wise, I like that the design and colour scheme are more subtle than the competition, while still looking modern and good. I am still hoping for an "Nvidia-green" coloured board though, but this is just personal preference.
The board is priced well compared to certain other offerings, while still being quite expensive for a motherboard. This is a common issue with AM5 boards, so I cannot blame MSI for this, especially since it also offers more USB slots at a lower price compared to other boards.
Overall, I can see why people often recommend the Tomahawk series. It's pretty, reliable and sturdy.

The MSI MAG X870E Tomahawk WiFi is a solid, future-proof board. In addition to many M.2 ports, you get USB4 Type-C, a PCIe 5.0 x16, 5G Lan, WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
I'm glad that MSI has chosen a rather simple design without a lot of RGB. The workmanship remains very high quality. Assembly was quick and easy thanks to the well-designed quick-release fasteners for PCIe and M.2 connections.
With my Ryzen 7 9800x3D, the board runs perfectly under Windows 11. In Windows 10, the LAN initially caused problems. However, I was able to fix this with the appropriate drivers. However, the board is intended more for Windows 11, as WiFi and Bluetooth only work there.
The power supply is more than sufficient for my purposes and stays nice and cool thanks to the large heatsinks.
In my opinion, it has the best value for money among the X870E boards.
Note: My board was delivered with a white WiFi antenna. However, this doesn't bother me because I have hidden it well.
Best-value high-quality X870E motherboard that includes a POST code display.
