Minix NEO X8-H Plus incl. A2 LITE AirMouse
16 GB, Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)
An excellent device with fast WLAN on which a large number of apps can be installed thanks to access to the Playstore.
Anyone who is comfortable with an Android mobile phone can have the device up and running in 5 minutes.
As an alternative to the Android desktop, you can use a WIn 8 perceived desktop, which I personally don't like as much.
Live TV with Zattoo or Teleboy is no problem, access to Plex also works straight away.
Using the Airmouse takes a bit of getting used to and is awkward at first, but it generally works well.
but generally works well.
All cables are included, the only thing the manufacturer has skimped on is the batteries for the remote control.

After 3 weeks of familiarisation with KODI, which I have been running on this device, I have come to a consistently positive assessment. The only weaknesses I find are that Minix's update policy (still KitKat) is not really up to scratch. Especially those who set up this box as a home cinema system must be aware that not much can really be done with the outdated memory management of 4.4.x. And if you're not exactly a root pro, you'll find that the update policy of Minix (still KitKat) is not really up to scratch. And if you're not a root pro, you've got a nut to crack to get your thumbnails of all your films and music onto an external storage device.... but it works. And... the blue LED display on the front is not really visible. So you never really know whether the box is running or in sleep mode. Otherwise, very good performance. I don't know any lag problems via Ethernet and Wifi as described in other reviews. Everything, even 4k films, run smoothly and without a hitch. AirMouse lite 2 must also be purchased! Anyone who wants to set up an HCC system is very well served with this device and Kodi.

This product is only ideal for hobbyists! The Android version that has been installed also leaves a lot to be desired. It's a shame that this is being distributed! If then tell me a software that really runs flawlessly with it? An absolute no-go.

1A product. Quickly set up and ingenious with the Air Mouse. Everything is smooth (Ethernet) and loads very quickly. I also installed Kodi with a few video add-ons. Really recommendable for the price. I already had the Pocorn and the Fantac, but this one tops everything. It's safe to buy. Swisscon TV, Wilmaa runs brilliantly...

Very good network player! The AirMouse puts the crown on the whole thing! Top

I wanted a good media player that would stream my film collection from my NAS to my projector.
With the Minix NEO X8-H, everything works wonderfully without "jerking" when watching or rewinding...
As already mentioned in other comments: it runs on Android (Android knowledge is an advantage), otherwise it is ready to use in 2 minutes.

Quick Android Box
Everything installed quickly and without much effort. Swisscom TV 2.0 runs excellently and without stagnant pictures.
Highly recommended. I have just ordered a second one.

Great device. Simple to operate.
Even movies from movie4k can be played with the appropriate app.
Unfortunately, the youtube app does not work. But that's because of youtube. Not too bad for me, since I have other options.
Movies from my hard drive are all played without any problems.
Music Spotify.....and much ...much more

Does exactly what it is supposed to do.

The device is ingenious. Thanks to access to the Google Play app store, it can be used for all kinds of things. For example, as a game console or for home automation. There is enough power, as well as connections for cameras, memory expansion and the like.
It's a bit of a shame that Digitec uses the MiniX A2 LITE AirMouse. This is certainly well-intentioned, but the LITE version differs from the MiniX A2 AirMouse in that it lacks an integrated microphone and loudspeaker. If you want to use Skype for phone calls, you have to buy the normal MiniX A2 AirMouse. A bit annoying. Especially because the MiniX A2 AirMouse would only cost about 20CHF more.
Another criticism is that some apps do not work. However, this is usually due to the app itself. Zattoo is one of them. It should also be noted that the app used to work very well(!) -> but that was before the new "improved" app came along.

A great device. It takes a little time and interest to use all the features properly.
I control the whole thing with a rappoo keyboard (the CH layout and the FN special keys work).

Good, fast device. Easy to operate with the A2 remote control supplied.
The box has one major shortcoming: it has no LED, so you don't know whether it is switched on, in sleep mode or switched off. This is very annoying.

I use this Minix on my beamer and run zattoo on it. The device is connected to my 1Gbit network via cable.
Unfortunately, there are often annoying hangs (two to three times per TV evening): the picture hangs for 20 seconds or more, but the film continues. This is not due to the network, a notebook connected to the same cable runs without any problems. In addition, the S/PDIF output does not work for me, I cannot connect my stereo system. But maybe I'm doing something wrong.
Conceptually, it is the ideal media player. You can install kodi (XBMC successor) on it without any problems, zatoo or wilmaa too.
Unfortunately, it is the outdated KitKat (Android 4.4) and so far - contrary to the manufacturer's promises - no updates have been offered. Perhaps this is the reason for the poor performance despite good hardware.
I am a bit divided. Without performance problems and with functioning S/PDIF, it would be a very good device.

This little unit is perfect for someone that want's an android-based HTPC. 4K is no problem, games etc also run very well. XBMC comes pre-installed, and works with Gotham add-ons. The A2 remote is great, not all the buttons work (fixable in scripts) and doesn't require line of sight, so you can hide the box away like I did for a clean setup. For the money - this little thing is brilliant.
Pro
Instead of the pre-installed launcher and media player, I use Apex Launcher and SPMC (sometimes also mVideo Player for individual files) and play all media smoothly from the NAS via the fast Gigabit LAN.
I notice how fast the CPU and the internal flash memory are by the fact that, for example, updating a Play Store app only takes a few seconds.
SPMC (a fork of Kodi/XBMC) also starts in a fraction of a second after booting (takes a little longer). With my old player, it took 20 seconds.
With the air mouse, the YouTube app can also be controlled comfortably and even surfed from the sofa.
Pro
Very good product.
Operation sometimes tricky if the desired internet channel is unavailable.
For Android users it is easy to use and the Google Play apps purchased are also valid on this device.

All in one is good, but long loading times! 2 GUIs as an interface a bit too much. better ONE brilliant software! Looks a bit like it was put together.

This product is perfect for converting a PC screen into a TV for example. I have coupled it with the product :
Tivizen nano HD hybrid
And it works really well.
I tested several emulators, PPSSPP, Snes9x EX, SnesDroid and it works well.
The video playback is perfect too.
The remote control support is partial with Tivizen, I wrote to Tivizen support but never got a reply they made a good product, but don't know how to take care of customers too bad.

Product is not recommended.
1. update difficult to install for beginners (only the 1st update after that comes OTA updates).
2. no real Android, some screwed up tablet version.
3. programs do not run properly. Youtube, Twitch... I had no patience for more
3. wifi antenna a bit bigger please?!
4. can't be woken up from standby with a BT remote control.
5. airmouse is a joke
There are certainly still positive things about the box, but I didn't have the nerve for this box any more and bought the Nvidia Shield TV. the extra price is worth it!
Works perfectly, it is the first time I use a device of this type.
