Perfect replacement for Swisscom/Wingo router
Performance (WAN to LAN throughput) very good, configuration a horror!
The basic configuration for Internet and local network access (server, etc.) was simple and worked immediately. A speed test showed that I could fully use my 500 Mbit/s internet connection (WAN to LAN throughput).
But ... the firewall configuration is almost impossible to understand, and the port forwarding (e.g. for my web server) did not work, despite exact implementation of various video instructions and many hours of attempts. Since this is important for me, I had to return the router. I am still looking for an equivalent replacement.
I have already configured several routers (Netgear, Linksys, etc.), so this is not the first time I have done this. It has always worked. But with this router I had to admit defeat.Pro

The MikroTik VPN-Router RB760iGS hEX S is a product that stands out from the crowd. Unlike the Ubiquiti EdgeRouter X SFP, its management interface is extremely responsive and fluid, making configuration quick and intuitive. What's more, the reboot time is impressive, with a reconnection to the Internet in less than 15 seconds, although most changes do not require a reboot and are made 'warm'.
The configuration options are very comprehensive, allowing extensive customisation to suit your needs. Even with this wealth of parameters, initial set-up remains simplified and the most advanced options remain a non-compulsory extra.
Another advantage is the support for regular updates, ensuring security and up-to-date functionality over time.
The only potential downside is the plastic casing, which may seem a little more 'fragile' than models with a metal casing.Pro
