Microsoft Surface Book 2

Top business notebook, the best I've ever had. Battery life is great, still got 8h+ after 18 months of daily use. It has enough resources for office applications with the i5, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD, enough and fast USB ports, a display port and a 3.5mm jack for headphones! The integration with Azure AD in the Microsoft and Office 365 world is very helpful and the accessories such as the mouse and pen round off the package. The small weaknesses are the relatively high weight, the gap in the hinge and the pen holder that does not hold ;-)

I got the Surface Book 2 for my studies. I am very satisfied with it so far. I use it mainly for office work and can say that it is excellent for this area of application, everything runs flawlessly.

An "interesting" promotion for the purchase of an MS S. B. 2 i5-7300U, 128 MB SSD, at CHF 999.- ran until 21 Jan.
I thought maybe a good opportunity to get hold of a modern device: I was mainly interested in the touchscreen and stylus, news for me.
Youtube provided countless opportunities to find out about it from "Unpacking the ..." to a lot of blah blah. A majority of the posts do not cover this model, rather the more powerful and expensive models.
The small 128 GB SSD immediately looked like a negative point, until an answer in "Questions" to Digitec
offered me a way out. Here's an excerpt (signed @XxEDGExX):
"Insider Tip at Surface: There is an SD module called the BASEQI Ninja Stealth Drive. It's an SD adapter with a slot for a microSD. You can fit this adapter seamlessly into your Surface, so that no adapter
and you can still use an SD card as an additional drive."
Meanwhile, at baseqi.com, I purchased a
Ninja Stealth Drive for MS Surface Book 2 13.5" (Adapter only) $24.99 each, ordered but not yet received.
The way to use such an external storage is described in various ways under
"Move your own files" or "Move your own files to another partition" at giga.de,
praxistipps.chip.de or microsoft.com.
This notebook cannot and should not be used spontaneously and intuitively if you have worked with "normal" towers.
worked with "normal" towers. Therefore I searched for "User Guide for Surface Book 2", for a while in vain. Until Google search provided an explanation:
"For whatever reason, Microsoft doesn't create PDF user guides anymore" and
"that's rather the impression I am getting; and I thought there would be a PDF copy of
the manual pre-installed on the new device. It's like trying to squeeze blood out of a stone".
This search also returned a link https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...
This can be recommended reading to learn about the features of the device.
It is written in 11 sections and covers 71 topics (including some titled "Troubleshooting").
It is worthwhile to examine the device in detail, as many actions are not as intuitive as one might think. At the beginning, it's not about Windows, you already know that,
What's interesting is the ingenious vehicle
Surface Book 2. And it convinces !

High-quality housing. Good handling both as a notebook and as a tablet. The use of a pen is recommended for tablet use.
The performance is sufficient for office applications and internet.
Bought at a special price - otherwise too expensive.
Super device, very reliable
