Logitech Spotlight
You can't use it. As a linux user this product is not worth buying (features such as zoom, timer, and highlight are not supported). you can only use it as a simply "wireless-mouse".

Software works unexpectedly easy & well and helps super with setup. You can activate between 0..3 configurations for the Spot button and switch live during the presentation by double-clicking.
As soon as you press the Spot button, the current orientation in 3D is used to place the pointer on the screen, everything else is then relatively in motion to it. Works easier than it sounds :-D
However, there is a problem in the presenter mode of MS PowerPoint: The spot is not only active on the beamer, but also on the laptop monitor, in my case it was sometimes on the laptop and I had to bring it over to the beamer by twisting it by hand.

Sensational with the software. Without it quite unnecessary. Anyone who often presents in front of large TV screens instead of projectors NEEDS this device.

Disappointed with the product. I expected the system to be more responsive and the software to offer more customisation.

Used the presenter successfully for a long time. Super design, works great.
Needs additional software, but then you get nice spotlight effects instead of a laser light on the wall.
Since Remote Work, the device is rarely used. And if you just leave it in your pocket, the battery dies. It can't be replaced, or only with a lot of tinkering (see iFix it). Logitech offers no support or discounted replacement.
Now I have a very expensive paperweight. Looks great. But is super frustrating.
Hands off if you don't need it weekly!

I was looking forward to the presenter. The timer function in particular is very useful.
But: If you don't use the presenter for a while, the battery can no longer be charged. It is also hardly replaceable (probably not intended by Logitec).
What a pity. This turns the product into a disposable item. I don't think that's sustainable.

The battery discharges itself and puts the device into a mode where you can't even charge it. Using the instructions on the Internet, you could open it and charge it with an external power supply. That way you could save it. After a few days, the game will certainly start all over again. So it's absolutely only something for frequent users, those who leave it plugged in and hobbyists...
But here's some positive feedback for Digitec: they responded to my problems in an accommodating manner.

Probably the best pointer for me. It is really useful for LCD screen where you cannot use a laser. And it has triple functionality; laser, highlight, and zoom. It takes a bit of getting used to but once you get good at it, your presentations will look much more professional. Beware though sometimes the lag between the bluetooth connection to the pc and then from the pc to the projector can become noticeable. So you really need to practice and get used to it.
Cool thing to draw attention to a presentation with something other than a green or red dot. When presenting, a PP or a PDF does not even have to be active, it works in practically all the programmes I use.

I am very satisfied. Presenter works perfectly, as it should. The control of the spotlight is a bit more difficult than that of a laser point, but works well overall and also offers more possibilities (marking, light/shadow, magnifying glass). It is also nice that the mouse pointer can be controlled remotely, e.g. to click on a link in a presentation. The only caveat is that the magnifier needs sufficiently powerful hardware to run smoothly. Would buy the device again!

Phenomenal product! Easy to set up, can be connected to the PC via Bluetooth or via a receiver (included in the set). The settings give you a lot of options, e.g. to adjust the spotlight size to your own needs. Further functions and settings can be found on the product website (provides a good overview of all functions).
The only "shortcoming" (to be criticised on a high level) is that when you press the Spotlight button, there is a very short delay until the Spotlight actually appears and, above all, can be "moved". This requires a little practice before the presentation.
Otherwise, a great product including the most important feature from my point of view: the timer!

BEST PRESENTER EVER
Spotlight fits perfectly in the hand and feels very pleasantly valuable. Unlike its plastic counterparts.
The Spotlight function is the ultimate special effect for every presentation. The magnifying glass function and the gesture controls (volume +/-, scrolling, etc.) are also very innovative and extremely useful.
The cursor function, which can be used, for example, to select or start videos in a presentation, is also particularly practical. As far as I know, no other presenters offer these functions.
The software is very simply designed and helpful so that I can adjust the parameters to my current needs at any time with just a few clicks.

Mac can then often no longer be controlled with touch pad.
Hope for an update of this app soon

I am thrilled.

The device is elegant and elegantly packaged, but far too expensive for what it can do.
There is no documentation, the operating instructions are 2 pages long and more of an advertising brochure than a manual. It doesn't tell you how the thing works.
The thing lets you control a cursor like a mouse by moving the thing.
There is a function that allows you to highlight areas of the presentation like a torch, hence the name "Spotlight". The only problem is that you can hardly see the rest of the slide. A laser pointer would really be better.
If you want this torch functionality, you have to download an app that wants to access pretty much everything and anything on your computer, which made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I'm going to uninstall it immediately.

As always, I was very well served!
Thank you very much and regards
I bought this presenter because of the good reviews and the advertised timer function and the connection to the device via bluetooth. However, the Logitech software is required for this and for starting videos. And that's the catch, it hasn't been updated for a long time, which is why these functions are not available to me at all. So I can only click the PowerPoint presentation forwards and backwards and have to connect the presenter to the adapter on the laptop.

Once the battery is discharged (prolonged non-use), the part can be thrown away!

I've already organised a second one because it's simply part of the presentation standard.

The range and reliability are not very high. The battery is quickly defective when not in use.
There were very embarrassing moments because it simply didn't work on a big stage and the presentation was a total flop.
The battery is totally flawed and doesn't deliver what it promises.
With enough range and a decent battery, this thing would be really great.

Good tool with new possibilities against a simple laser pointer and works perfectly on screens.
For me, holding the pointer steady with my hand when it is not supported is a rather shaky affair.
But that's not the problem with the device, it's my steady hand. :)
