I've had the X56 for several years now and was thrilled at first, still satisfied after a relatively short time, then it was still okay, and today the stick died due to a small failure (in me, not in the stick).
The little thumb drive stopped working after just a few weeks - which was a shame, but a solvable problem given the many other options. But the fact that the stick moved further and further to the right (Z-axis) over the months/years could at some point only be corrected with generous dead zones. Today, my virtual self in the cockpit kept turning to the right, which has led to the stick and I now going our separate ways - it to the recycling yard and I to Virpil.
All in all, for the price it is a good HOTAS that I would recommend to "rare flyers". For those who use the stick often and rely on precise inputs, I would suggest getting something else.
If I flew with pedals and did not have to rely on the Z-axis in the stick, it would probably have been with me a little longer.

overall very satisfactory, for example excellent for Elite Dangerous and the like;

Has many buttons and is somewhat comfortable in the hand.
Unfortunately, the workmanship is not so good. It has quite sharp edges on the stick. Certain mini-sticks have practically no resistance.
In addition, certain switch positions are not ergonomic.
Since the left and right thrust control scaling are already shifted in relation to each other, i.e. their zero position does not match, further testing was dispensed with.
(even if the software allows calibration on the screen, the physical display cannot be corrected with it.

Despite all the MANY negative reviews about the quality on Amazon and in forums, I still treated myself to the X56 because there have been many negative reviews for a very long time and I thought that Logitech listens to its customers and has certainly already improved one or the other. I ordered the X56 from another dealer.
Top packaging. Matt black, slightly rubberised finish.
- Thrust control is sluggish because Logitech uses a grease that has a poor viscosity. I read in another review that if you push the slider back and forth 20-30 times it becomes much smoother and indeed, if you "prepare" the slider (laugh) it is very comfortable to use. After a while of not using it, it becomes sluggish again. Many users unscrew the thrust regulator, remove the viscous grease and lubricate it with a better agent (beware of losing the warranty).
The joystick has play in the middle position, I have seen videos in which it has an enormous amount of play. With mine, the play is within limits, about 3mm? The problem is that when there is play in the axis, the control system controls a minimal flight movement. So flying exactly straight ahead will certainly be a matter of luck.
With my throttle unit, the SW1/SW2 button does not work correctly. The button has a 1-0-1 function. When I push the button up or down, both directions always trigger. It's as if I press them at the same time, which is not possible.
Is there no quality control/final check at Logitech?
Of course I'm sending the joystick back and the chapter "premium" joystick from Logitech is done for me. I still have an old TM16000M Hotas and will continue to use it to explore space in Elite Dangerous.
The Thrustmaster Warthog would also be a candidate, but since I don't want foot pedals it's out of the question because it doesn't have a rudder function.

For 180-200.- he is okay, but in no case for more than 200 he is not worth it compared to the X52 Pro since this is much better processed. Had previously an X52 pro which has given me 6.5 years of good service, do not think the X56 so long.

I love the versatility of it, although it is e bit sensitive.
