Logitech diNovo Edge Desktop

The ergonomics and design of the keyboard are absolutely top. But the constant disconnections (Bluetooth internal X230 Lenovo) are unnecessary. The keyboard is leaving me again after 4 months.
I didn't find anything better, but I had connection problems for a long time, the constant plugging and unplugging of USB sticks was very exhausting. It's been working again for about 4 months - no idea why.
Since yesterday, however, the battery is defective. It's a shame because you can't replace it so easily. (http://www.eisgold.de/product_in...)
Basically, I am very satisfied with this keyboard, but there are a few points that bother me:
1. the connection interruptions already commented on. These also happen when I use the Bluethooth adapter supplied. Furthermore, the device is not Unifying-compatible.
2. lack of backlight. I know that a wireless keyboard with backlit keys is somewhat of a problem in terms of battery power, but it would still be a nice feature.
3. keys are not fully rebindable: Not every one of the extra keys can be assigned any function, which I find a bit of a shame.
Conclusion:
All in all, a solid product, especially because it beats its competition by a long way, but unfortunately not without some serious problems.
Great keyboard, everything is fine. But after 4 years: one third of the lettering on the keys is no longer legible... Outside the warranty. I don't think this should happen with a Logitech and top of the line product. Waiting to see if service will remedy anyway.
have had my keyboard for approx. 3 years, for use in front of the TV of 5m absolutely no problems. today the seepage went out on me. According to technical support, they will send me one home free of charge.
I think that's great
I have been using two of these keyboards for about 4 years. I'm very satisfied and still don't want another one. Unfortunately, I had to have the keyboard replaced under warranty about 3 times. The problem each time was the battery, which suddenly did not last a day after charging. This was always the case after 1 - 1.5 years. Apparently a widespread problem. However, since there was a new one every time under warranty, I only deduct one star. Thanks to the long warranty
+ design
+ workmanship
+ pressure point
+ Battery life
+ Additional keys
- Battery partially defective after 1-1.5 years
- Reception problems in between
- No bios access if not paired via original Bluetooth stick.
I am completely satisfied with the keyboard. Operation on the KVM switch (Aten CS682) also runs smoothly.
I ordered this keyboard last week....
+Design
+Processing
+quality
+top material
-despite latest drivers ect. it did not work
test with three PC's.. Result Bluetooth receiver defective!
now everything back and a new one under guarantee...
It remains to be seen how it will turn out with the second keyboard....
i have had the keyboard for about half a year now
and now I can deliver a final verdict
actually the keyboard would have deserved 5 stars BUT:
these eternal connection problems really get on my nerves
already the 3 setpoint update and still the same problem
i find it a great pity that logitech builds in such a blooper to such an excellent idea.with all the other design, comfort, battery life i am absolutely satisfied.
too bad logitech you can do better
I've been using this thing for almost three years now. Ideal for the HTPC. Absolutely recommended purchase.
First "Digipedia" comment ever - so let's go!
This keyboard is perhaps the computing product that has ever convinced me the most.
The keys are wonderful to press, already worlds away from the older keyboards.
You get used to the missing number pad, the battery lasts for three weeks, the range from the PC is great.
The workmanship is simply splendid, but you should clean the device from time to time with an air-pressure can to prevent dirt from accumulating under the keys.
The price is apparently still quite high, but this is a device that easily justifies a higher price.
I highly recommend this keyboard, whether for PC work or multimedia, or both.
The price is ok - you get what you pay for!
Touchpad is great, keyboard is nice and has a great touch. This part complements my Apple Media Center perfectly.
Mac Mini Bluetooth on - keyboard on - typing and mousing after a few seconds!
Recommendable!
The keyboard has a very nice design and long battery life. The workmanship makes a good impression. I use it on my HTPC and actually wanted to do without a mouse, but...
I find the touchpad much too imprecise. The pad on my laptop is much better and I don't have any problems using it without a mouse... The mouse buttons under the touchpad are, in my opinion, too deeply recessed and therefore difficult to use (especially if you don't have the keyboard on a firm surface).
I will probably buy another wireless mouse.
the keyboard is simply ingenious. works straight away with windows 7 , 64bit edition. possible potential for improvement is to place the touchpad in the middle of the keyboard like on a notebook, so that you don't have to get used to it.
I also use it as an htpc keyboard. highly recommended....
@Chris: For me it goes over quite a long distance and also through walls (but quite thin wooden ones).
@Product: As part of an HTPC set, it has become indispensable for me. Flat and light, comfortable to type on and visually stunning. Never had any connection problems and I only charge it every 2 months or so, despite intensive daily use.
does it give you reception through a wall?
There is nothing better at the moment. The price is a bit expensive, but justified.
- Typical piano lacquer --> you can see fingerprints very well
but it looks TOP ;)
I've been using the keyboard since November and I'm absolutely thrilled. The lack of a numpad is not a problem for me, at least. The keys are very comfortable and I can't report any spongy touch or rattling. The design is undisputed and the workmanship is also very good. Nothing bounces and it is very thin, which makes it easy to take it somewhere.
The range and battery life are great. I use the keyboard for several hours a day and haven't charged it more than 4 times since November (I don't switch it off when the PC is switched off). Once a month it happens that a key hangs. But it doesn't seem to be a mechanical problem but rather a connection problem. Just switch it off and it's fine.
Connecting to my Windows Vista PC is no problem. The keyboard is recognised immediately after each suspend/restart etc.
The mouse pad is better than on some notebooks, only the scrolling functions are a bit tricky from my point of view.
The keyboard layout is very good. The bottom row of keys (Ctrl, Windows, Alt etc.) is slightly raised and rounded, which has a positive effect when typing.
I use the keyboard on a desktop PC for games etc. and I haven't noticed any disadvantages there either.
On the subject of not for professionals: Professionals should know which product is suitable for which use and how to evaluate something like that. Anyone who buys a product and later complains that keys are missing has disqualified himself :)
everything super,
no problem nothing!!!
A great thing and that for almost a year!
Thanks logitech
I have been desperately looking for a wireless keyboard to control a media PC. In my opinion, this model from Logitec is the only one that is good to use.
I deduct one point because the keyboard is too big (at least it's annoying in bed). Battery life is good.
What I generally wonder is why the other manufacturers of wireless keyboards don't at least build a MousePoint into their keyboards, as IBM does. For media PCs, the selection of usable keyboards is still very poor (RFID is a must, IR is no good for the sofa, bed,...).
Design class. Functions very good. Stop also beautiful... But it just doesn't work!!!! I had di novo before ... and it worked great. So I switched to Edge... But total failure.
With every start (be it new or from suspend) you have to connect the keyboard manually. It's a real pain!!!
Docking station - forget it. Don't like it at all. Even leads to computer crashes. Directly on the computer (as suggested by LOgitech) is also not sustainably better. Either I have an object from the assembly line or it simply has a design flaw. It's not the receiver's power supply (as Logitech assumes). It has power... You just have to press connect manually each time. Then it comes immediately. And once it's there, it's tiptop... But a wireless keyboard must always be able to reach the computer and not just now and then..... It also gets tangled up with my touchpad from time to time... I have no choice but to return the thing... it just keeps losing contact with the computer.
Dear reviewers / readers
This keyboard is ingenious ! Perfectly manufactured.
Never had even 1 problem !!!
It seems to me that all those who write bad things here are envious !!!!
- the price is too high !
+ bomb keyboard !
Love greetings
simply ingenious use it now already a long time I am boundlessly satisfied.the touchpad is a brilliant idea when I sometimes forgot to charge the mouse I always use the touchpad.simply awesome
The keyboard is great, as is the dock that comes with it. Recognition via Bluetooth on the PC and on the PS3 worked straight away. However, despite the built-in touchpad, I will buy an additional mouse, because for me, the touchpad is a little too close to the edge of the keyboard for relaxed working. But I won't give the keyboard away!
I have been working with this wonderful keyboard for over one and a half years.
The design is just as convincing as the usability and pressure characteristics of the keys.
If you want, you quickly get used to the missing 10-key pad and can use the ten-finger system properly.
Whether gaming, using media applications or writing papers, the keyboard is perfect. It has never let me down.
Quality has its price, that's the case everywhere.
@radoyoto
You are the stupidest fool.
This is a media centre keyboard.
You certainly don't need a numeric keypad on a media centre.
and the mouse pad is certainly optimal here. You certainly don't want to tell me that you're fiddling around with a mouse on the sofa.
ROFL simply the stupidest
PS: I also use one. But for everything. Also for playing. But it's practical to be able to control everything from bed.

Let's be honest. I'm not going to spend 220 euros on a keyboard that doesn't have the following features:
NEGATIVE:
1) no numeric keypad, that can be very annoying to write over the letter every time.
2) TouchPad is superfluous (what's the mouse for), you could rather add something more useful.
POSITIVE:
1) elegant design.
2) Good keys.
And on elegant design: that's no use if the keyboard can't fulfil as many conditions as others.
That's why I chose the Logitech Desktop Cordless Wave.
I've had it for a few days now, the keyboard feels very classy, it's easy to write with. I like the integrated touchpad, the many settings and the wireless design.
but i found a pretty serious bug today that might scare off some keyboard gamers.
With any conventional 10-franc keyboard, you can click Space, UP-Arrow and LEFT-Arrow at the same time and all 3 keys are sent...
but not with the diNovo Edge, where these 3 keys hack, and then only 2 are sent....
funny... of course this should not be the case :-(
otherwise top product, even if expensive, but you don't treat yourself to anything else.
By far the worst keyboard on the market:
1) Spongy touch (laptop characteristics).
2) Keys sometimes stick (rrrrrrrrrrr effect!)
3) Various keys crack.
4) Blue Tooth connection is always interrupted. No BT connection for minutes after booting.
5) Fingerprints on the glossy surface.
6) Various special keys are missing.
After five minutes of use, one longs for a real keyboard. Professionals never buy such a piece of junk!
