Hangs up after about a week

This device resp. these two devices are the huge disappointment. After about 3 days of continuous operation, long connection times are noticeable on devices (e.g. iPhone) that want to connect to the Internet (e.g. website) via Wi-Fi (not cable). After a few more days, the system has to be completely rebooted. The whole thing repeats itself after about 3 more days. DO NOT BUY THIS DEVICE! I am now watching the matter a few more weeks then I send the set digitec back and expect a refund of the purchase price.

    Pro

    • Wi-Fi signal throughout the house
    • Integrated switch
    • USB connection for HD (NAS)

    Contra

    • Web Interface
    • After one week no fast connection possible

    Network constantly breaks down

When it's up and running, everything is satisfactory, very fast. But when the network goes down, it takes at least 2 hours, often up to 48 hours, until everything is stable.
The satellites connect to each other randomly,
then one goes offline and connects to another one, until at some point everything remains stable.
Small changes, such as reserving an IP address, lead to a breakdown. Firmware updates as well. Very frustrating, I can't recommend it to anyone.

    Pro

    • Fast (when it runs)

    Contra

    • Unstable
    • Hours to get everything back up and running
    • Expensive
    • No support
    • Satellites connect randomly

    everything tiptop and recommended

On the whole, I think my new MASH network is quite good.
Setup through the Linksys guided app took about 15 minutes. It is really simple to set up, so that even a layman can set this up.
    Therefore, only the most necessary
configuration steps are asked, e.g. what the WLAN should be called and what the password is.
The prioritization of the individual devices I find so far also good.
For the best connection, client and/or node steering can be enabled. With client steering, the end device always connects to the closest node. In the app it is displayed which device is connected to which node (but can take a few seconds).
With node-steering, the node connects to the closest node (of course only if the devices are connected via WLAN. If they are connected via LAN, which I recommend anyway, then it doesn't matter). In addition, the next node takes over the defective, or if the node can establish a weak connection.
With the parent control you can unlock/block device for a specific period of time and also block specific websites.
It has a USB3 slot for e.g. a NAS system that can be connected via the SMB protocol.

To the network range that is addressed by some. At my home I cover a 4.5 room apartment with the two nodes. Of course it depends on the number and type of walls.
--> With me runs in any case TOP!

    Star deductions:
-Half a star deduction because of the account requirement (this is for remote access if you are not directly connected to the WLAN).
-Another half star deduction for almost actually no reports. I'm used to much more from Netgear. If someone does not need reports it is ok, but for this price is a MUST! I want to know when who logs in, or when a drop of the IP from the provider happens.
-WLAN by timer/scheduler switch off is missing me also

    Pro

    • Special offer price for 219.-
    • simple setup + wizard
    • Guest-WLAN
    • management
    • prioritization of devices
    • Parent-Control

    Contra

    • Reports
    • Account a must
    • too few config options
    • Timer for WLAN off

Quick to set up, modest range

Disappointment is great, My house is not very big and I wanted to cover the house with 3 pieces. Unfortunately, I can not install the devices on each floor - no connection. I need therefore again at least 2-3 pieces. There I ask myself the question of cost / benefit.

    Pro

    • Easy to set up
    • Quick and easy to configure
    • Performance

    Contra

    • Connection over two floors
    • Connection through 1 wall
    • Instructions
    • Device size

    simple setup / modest range

have me the day action 249.- for the two-pack ordered what would be for me a more realistic price for the devices ... the two cover the same range as my "old" Netgear router alone. Since I do not actually reit this for my house I'm waiting for the next action..... so go Digitec :-)

the set up was very simple except for a small problem, had the two in the first attempt too far apart, this led to you that the connection broke off again and again this but nowhere was apparent why ... so routers closer together and tried again

    since then they run perfectly

    Pro

    • easy to set up via app
    • stable performance

    Contra

    • much too expensive
    • range

Good but not as good as advertised

I previously had a Netgear Nighthawk. Unfortunately, the part has repeatedly made problems and the installation was compared to this device an imposition. But with the Netgear the range is better and a reboot takes only a few seconds. I don't know what the Linksys does on reboot, but it takes forever. Ditto for any configuration change. The installation/configuration takes a lot of time and nerves, if you don't have a 0815 configuration. But, configuring the device works flawlessly, which can't be said for the Netgear. Definitely you can say that the Linksys but with many devices (20+) very well clear comes, what is not the case with the Netgear.

    Pro

    • Installation
    • Bridge mode works fine
    • Data throughput

    Contra

    • Manual
    • Range
    • Boot times
