The 9 series has now become the passable combination of the Siemens/Kärcher and the old Roomba generation. But the old weaknesses are not yet completely overcome, it still cleans our guest toilet several times and the entrance area only once. It is still at war with long hair. In order for the robot to clean as well as its predecessor, the 2xClean mode has to be used, which makes up for the navigation efficiency. I bought the device because of its low profile and a promotional price. Roomba needs to improve again. And uncontrolled chatting on the internet is not possible at all.

We own a house and every morning when I go to work, the Roomba also starts its work. I vacuum less in the house (200m2) than before in the flat (90m2). I won't give it away any more. The only drawback I've noticed so far is the price.

The iRobot has been supporting me for a few weeks now and does a reliably good job. It manages carpets and hard floors and I have to dust or vacuum myself much less often! Absolutely recommendable!

The product itself was okay, but one day it did a firmware upgrade on its own and was no longer able to connect to a WLAN or create its own hotspot to set up the device again. From then on I had a dumb hoover with nothing I could do about it.
I wrote to iRobot customer support, who directed me to open a ticket. I have now submitted this ticket as a repair with estimate and have been waiting for a reply for 4 working days. I have not been assigned to an agent anywhere and have not received a reply. The product is quite nice, but the breaking of functionality via OTA firmware update and the unsatisfactory support makes it relatively difficult to enjoy. Update: I was able to send the robot in and it was repaired free of charge!

It was a fun experiment, but I would not blindly recommend it to others.
The robot is still quite strange in how it does the floor (I would expect a variation of zigzag), it seems to not be biased towards thinking that things have 4 legs, and that rooms do not move between runs. A plain chair on a way would trigger quite a research project, and discovering doors is always from scratch.
It has a problem with Ikea Poäng (though you can DIY it around) — manages to partially jump on it and hang itself, so to say.
It has problem with many kinds of carpets, esp. small ones, and of cause with wires — it’s powerful enough to pull sufficient amount of it in and choke.
It is though very easy to disassemble and clean. Not just the bin, but wheels, brushes, etc. And when it does not choke on a dog’s toy it does leave the floor clean, even in the corners and under the sofa :-)
