Cool device! :-)
Small but promising. What a pleasure to use this little jewel. With an i5 and especially an m.2 slot, what could be better for office applications? With a Samsung EVO 500 GB, we are ready for the future.
As there is a fan, it will be necessary to take care of its cleanliness, perhaps once a year.

Totally meets my expectations :)
I've set one up for my uncle and would love to throw away my midi tower and put a cute NUC like this on my desk.
Absolutely suitable for a multimedia and office computer. For gaming and performance-intensive things probably not so much, but who does that o.O
I paired it with a WD-Green SSD and Corsair RAM (use the cheapest, low clocked RAM with low CAS latency for minimal power consumption), as well as the ASUS ZenDrive U9M:

Boots extremely fast thanks to the slim configuration (no more loading time for the various S-ATA, USB and other peripheral controllers that are still lurking around on most fully equipped ATX motherboards) and the "everything from a single source" principle. Intel knows how to build good PC hardware. Be sure to activate Fast Boot in the BIOS after you have set up the BIOS!
BIOS is a true blessing in terms of simplicity, overview and efficiency. You don't miss anything, but it also doesn't have anything it doesn't need (you don't do extreme overclocking with a NUC...). Anyone who knows the current ASUS ROG boards knows what the opposite looks like...
For those who don't know what a BIOS is: The NUC works perfectly if you just plug in an SSD and a couple of RAM bars and switch on the box (with a Windows 10 USB stick, which is helpful if you want to install an operating system).
The price is also very fair, so it deserves 5 stars!
I chose the taller design in the hope that the extra space would provide better cooling. However, this is not the case because the fan is on the other side and it makes no difference. So if you don't want to install a 2.5" hard disk / SSD in addition to the M.2 SSD, you can confidently take the small design.

Using it with Linux, fan is way too noisy, previous NUC6i5 was much better, disabling fan in system config causes software to fail, Linux (Ubuntu 17.10) is not ready for this device
