Tried on (4!) different desktop PCs and 2 laptops
Insta360 Link is shown in the device manager under Audio Video and Game Controller as present.
The latest Insta Link Controller programme "Win_x64_1.3.0_1667287634419.exe" can be installed and started, but the preview and the camera image cannot be started.
But why does it work on my two laptop PCs? I have a 10-year-old HP Elite Book 8560p and a somewhat newer Lenovo Ideapad 330, both with W11 22H2_22621.900 on them! And the link controller programme and the preview work. It even works under W7 on the Elite Book. And the four different desktop PCs I have all have the same, latest W11 on them. And the thing doesn't work on any of the desktop PCs! So it can't be the Windows. And the four desktop PCs also have different mainboards and CPU generations. The newest one is an I9 12900K. So it can't be the hardware.
I also recorded a video sequence on the Lenovo with the controller programme; it makes an .avi file, but I can't hear anything from the sound. There is also nothing in the controller programme for sound settings.
In any case, the thing gets very hot during operation and makes every effort to drain a laptop battery as quickly as possible.
All in all, the Insta360 Link gets a big thumbs down from me! The company Insta360 is obviously completely focused on Android and Mac and has no idea about Windows. There is still a lot of room for improvement. This is because the software allegedly does not have a valid Windows signature. At the horrendous price of CHF 364, one could actually expect better perfection.
Has nobody tried it on a "normal" PC ? Are there only laptop bastards here ?

Since the update a disaster, I use it for streaming and the picture hangs constantly (internet speed is correct) since the update no chance of a normal picture.
and now you can set more than 6 presets but you can no longer name them and you can no longer zoom in the app.
The faults started exactly after 12 months and since the update it is actually unusableBetter than OBS Bot AI powered camera
