HP M283fdw Color LaserJet Pro
There were no more drivers for the old scanner and so a replacement was needed. At the same time, the inkjet printer should be replaced, where the cartridges repeatedly dry up due to infrequent use.
The new device should offer everything in one, i.e. scan, print, copy. It should also be based on laser technology and be connectable via WLAN. Oh yes, it should also be capable of duplex printing.
After several comparisons between various models on the market, we ended up with this model, which meets all the requirements and also performed well in independent tests. So far, we're very happy with its handling and performance.

In IT we have a saying that 98% of all IT problems are between the screen and the office chair. Except for printers. Printers are and remain ar****lö****.
Well... It really applies to this model.
It has already been repaired at Galaxus and is now causing trouble again. Currently the printer starts, calibrates, shuts down, starts again, calibrates, shuts down... and so on and so forth.
And, of course, the thing starts acting up again on Friday evening, when I'm actually about to call it a day. How could it be otherwise? -.-

ATTENTION: This device cannot scan on both sides with the document feeder (ADF). For documents printed on both sides, each page must be scanned individually by hand! Double sided scanning should be standard today.... Didn't notice it until 6 weeks later unfortunately and can't send it back....

The printer is ok and fulfils my expectations. The problem is that I once again fell for the supplier's cashback promotion. The effort to get the few weary cashback toads is simply far too high! For CHF 50.00 I had to put in a lot of effort for applications, etc. Then there's a review process and if you're lucky, your "application" will be approved - and after a few more weeks the amount will finally be credited. We want clear net prices - without ifs and buts. Is that clear, dear Galaxus!

IF the printer then prints, the quality is ok.
OTHERWISE, the device and the associated software are an absolute disaster.
- Integration of the printer is not possible in the conventional way.
- Requires the HP Smart App, which is teeming with bugs. I can't even log in to the mobile app.
- Scanning or other operations via desktop/mobile app requires HP account/login -> Why???
- Colour cartridges lock up after a period of time and need to be replaced. So nothing for few printers.
All in all, HP's product(s) are an absolute cheek for the money they cost.
I recently bought this printer and am quite satisfied so far. The set-up was a bit ambivalent, just to install the printer as a printer is quite easy, also the connection to the WLAN went by itself. But setting up the scan functionality correctly so that it saves my scans to the NAS was a bit more complicated. However, once set up, it is quite quick and easy. Maybe it was also a problem with the HP site, because the download of the driver was also super slow and then a little later the config page of the printer was suddenly as fast as you would expect.
I can't say much about the print quality yet, but what I printed came out very quickly and looked good, but I haven't printed any pictures or anything like that yet.
