Hammerhead Karoo 3
Hammerhead Karoo 3
A successful device that is much easier to use than my Garmin 1040.
The route guidance is less complicated for me than with the Garmin.
Good readability and battery performance has always been sufficient for me.
.
Unfortunately, only 15 sensors can be integrated - definitely not enough for several bikes
Hence the star deduction.
The lack of DI2 integration is obviously due to the competition between SRAM and Shimano.

the Karoo 3 is the best thing I have mounted on my bike so far. I have not been satisfied with Garmin for a long time. very poor software, cumbersome settings and the screen display is no comparison to the Karoo 3 for me.
All in all, a good device with very good route guidance and a really good display, the Compagnion app offers little added value

The bracket supplied was quickly mounted on the handlebars and the Hammerhead Karoo 3 clicked into place.
I saved a route as a GPX file for the first ride. Then off I went. I was startled by a very loud beep until I realised that it was a turn-off warning. After 2 more loud signals, the Karoo 3 remained silent. I still need to find out whether the volume can be adjusted.
When driving, turn-by-turn directions are clearly displayed in good time. On my route, two inclines were recognised and automatically displayed at the right moment.
Even after the first ride, I am very impressed and look forward to more bike tours with the Hammerhead Karoo 3.

The device is my new favourite. It's very easy to use and set up, the navigation works perfectly and the display is easy to read in any light. Pairing via ANT+ and BT works without any problems and you can even install additional apps via the Android SDK. All this for a very moderate price. Outstanding!

Hammerhead Karoo3, really the hammer. Everything worked perfectly, thank you
Very good sat nav. Already had the Karoo 2, this one is even better. As usual, a super product from Hammerhead. For very long journeys (morning to evening) the battery could be a bit better. But it's fine if the display isn't on all the time.

After a long wait, I was able to order the Karoo for 369. Nowhere is it cheaper! Thanks Galaxus.
Coming from the Garmin Edge 1040, I had also tested the Wahoo Roam 2 in the past. Why is the Karoo so good? Firstly the display. Just the right size! It's much easier to read in the forest than the Garmin. About the same as Wahoo. The map is very nice on the high-resolution display. The display of the route to be travelled is easier to read (Garmin small, Wahoo too thick). Climb function is displayed very nicely in my opinion. Integration into the AXS system is very well done (attention Di2 does not work). I still have to test the battery life. 12 hours is a real value, and enough for 90% of my rides. Cheers 🍻

Functionally, the device is state of the art, but it doesn't really come across as high quality. The push buttons look like they've been stuck on and you never really know what they're for. The casing is also cheap and carelessly made. I have SKS tyre pressure sensors on my two bikes and they can't be connected to the Karoo3. The internet connection and its functions are pretty rudimentary. Also, like all previous editions, the device takes what feels like an eternity to start up. If you don't want to pay more than 300 francs for your bike computer, this device is a good choice. I myself returned the device to Digitec and bought the Garmin Edge 1050.

A simple destination entry using an address (town and street) with subsequent route guidance does not work. I have therefore returned the Karoo
