Grandstream WP820
Grandstream WP820
The device fulfils its purpose and does so quite well (as long as the WLAN coverage is OK). The only pity is that it does not have an integrated answering machine (there would be enough memory) and there is no automatic number lookup (e.g. at search.ch). In addition, the order of the audio codecs in the delivery state is not optimal.
The phone offers an extremely large number of setting options.
Basically, you can say that it should work up to about -90 dBm reception (you can test this with the WiFiAnalyzer). It should be noted, however, that different devices have different reception values, but the phone seems to be quite good.

Contra
Anyone looking for a WiFi phone today no longer has much choice. Most providers only offer DECT phones. The Grandstream WP820 is in no way inferior to a DECT device and anyone who does not want to set up a DECT network is in good hands. Absolutely recommended!
Pro
The device is great, 5 stars Great, but if a spare battery is not supplied...
Contra
Bought this for use with the local IP telephony features of the Swisscom Internet Box 2.
Sadly, this doesn't work for outbound calls, only inbound. Which makes it somewhat useless as a phone.
Unsurprisingly, no support available from Swisscom, and nothing from Grandstream.
I would not recommend this phone if you are intending to use it in Switzerland.
Contra
Easy integration into the network and good transmission
