Battery is the weak point
Has many functions etc.
Machmal can also all the notifications and alarms etc. also let. I have the brightness turned down fully to save power.

Can recommend the watch
Good sports watch.
Gps signal is detected quickly. Sport modes and heart rate zones are configurable.
Music player/Spotify works perfectly. Fast pairing with smartphone and headphones.
Heart rate measurement very reliable.
Battery is somehow strange, sometimes good, sometimes used up extremely quickly...haven't found out yet what it could be...a bit better since the last update. About 3-5 days, depending on use. Garmin is very active in developing updates. I think that's good, you can tell they are making an effort to improve the watch.
I like the sleep tracking to a limited extent. Wake times are not really recorded and are indicated as light sleep.
The display is easy to read, but not the best...the background is kind of purple.Pro

Love it. I am comparing against a Fitbit Versa and in general it seems more accurate. The apps seem better than on Fitbit too. I will try for a month to get a full comparison but so far Garmin is in the lead.

Not to eimphehlen because of the protruding glass which scratches very quickly.
Fits small arms well, display scratches very quickly, despite only school. Battery life very low. Price performance I would rate neutral.

No audio prompts
It is ridiculous that it do not have audio prompts. When you run with a coaching app, it suppose to tell you when to run and when to walk etc. But it doesn't. You have to constantly check your watch to see the screen for prompts. If I was aware of this fact, I would not buy.

Lousy battery life and poor display.
I bought the Vivoactive 4S because it is advertised with up to 7 days of battery life. I wanted to use it primarily for sports, but because of the current situation, it was tested primarily for indoor training and in the home office.
What can I say - even with no activities and just normal shopping, walking and stair climbing I didn't get a full day.
I tried all the tips from the internet as there are:
- Hard Reset
- Update to the latest firmware
- Bluetooth off (no connection to the phone)
- Notifications off
- Pulse oximeter off
- GPS off
- illumination off
- no second hand, only display of digital time
So the watch effectively ran without any smartwatch feature and exclusively dynamic heart rate measurement. Even with these settings, I only got 22h of battery life....
When training (cardio) it then lost 60% battery life in 45 minutes...
For me, this is completely unusable - if I go swimming again (may), then the training takes 2h... Great when the watch is off after an hour....
That the display so purely does not fit the price range, is then only the icing on the cake.
It looks like an LCD from the 90s...
I do not want to exclude that my copy had a bug, or Garmin has broken something in the firmware - but so the watch was unusable for me and I returned it.Pro

Very disappointed
I am very disappointed with this watch, the pulse measurement is really wrong compared to the fitbit I had.
The glass is very delicate, I do nothing special is this one is cracked and now many rails, this has never happened to me with other watches.Pro

Insufficient service life
I was very satisfied with the watch, it was a reliable item with functions that suited me.
I bought the watch in March 2022, now in September 2024 the battery power suddenly became very low. The watch lasted 3 hours without any special functions and can no longer be charged. Of course, the warranty has expired.
I feel that the quality (service life) is inadequate at this price.Pro
