EcoFlow Solarpanel
175 W
Bought the "bifacial solar panel 220W" to go with my "Ecoflow River pro" power station. According to Ecoflow's datasheet, the front has a capacity of 220Wp (watts peak) and the back 155Wp.
I made several tests in the summer of 2022 at 500m above sea level in the Swiss Mittelland to measure the performance. Among other things, I placed the solar panel on the lawn in the blazing midday sun so that I had the same starting position. I turned the solar panel several times so that the front and the back were illuminated. The back side emits a measured power of 100W, which is about 65% of the theoretically possible power of 155Wp. Unfortunately, the front side only emits 109W, which is just under 50% of the theoretically possible output of 220Wp.
I have placed the solar panel in further test setups with the carrying bag at the optimum angle in the sun as well as hanging the solar panel from the balcony in the morning sun or evening sun. The bifacial effect should have been visible here, as the solar panel was hanging in front of a white wall. But I never got above the above values (100W / 109W). Very disappointing.
At 13kg, the solar panel is far too heavy and bulky. Due to the high weight, it is almost impossible to hang it up or take it down on your own. Because the back is also a solar panel, it scratches quickly. All in all, the solar panel has a disappointing performance, can hardly be handled due to its heavy weight and scratches quickly. I cannot recommend it for purchase.

- Has never done 220W before, even mounted on roof in 34 degree sunshine (week 32, 2022)
- Survived hail
- use the panel with the EcoFlow 1300, is barely charged with a full day of sunshine
- no winter experience yet
- would buy it again

I built a foldable wooden frame and mounted the 220 W panel on it.
now it stands with the frame in a heavy sunshade stand in front of the house ... so I can simply adjust it according to the sun.
today, 8 Nov. 22, it was temporarily veiled over midday, but ... there were two moments of full sunshine - now hold on - when the panel briefly delivered 267 WATT to the EcoFlow Delta Max 2000 Powerstation ... my wife can testify to that (smile)
now we have coffee every day, brewed with electricity from the EcoFlow Delta Max ... SolarCoffee
I first had the 400 watt panel on the wooden frame ... that was heavy and unwieldy for a soon-to-be 70 year old ... but the 220 modules weighing less than 10 kilos are magnificent.

excellent, with full sun, 100% charge very fast
when the light is 50%, it still charges, but for a longer time: this is logical
at 25%, however, it is not enough

The construction does not hold up in strong winds and accordingly the panel has to be placed on the ground. Which probably reduces the performance of the solar ray capture.

A good complement to the ecoflow batteries, this solar panel takes up quite a lot of space and is quite heavy to handle. But once in place and with the right tilt, the electricity production is excellent. The support - which is the product packaging - protects well, but is a bit minimalist to orientate the panel correctly. In case of wind, for example, you should consider securing the panel with additional means.

A solar panel that achieves 90% of the values listed in the specification. A light cover (shade by myself) reduces the output by 50%, so it has to be completely in the sun.

As the solar panel can be used from both sides, it is possible to hang this balcony railing.
